I heard to clean the toys, you can either scrub them down with soap, or soak them in water with bleach, and then rinse them off thouroughly. Well, I don't have straight bleach,but I do have clorox cleanup with bleach. I'm not sure if that's okay or not, so I wanted to know if anyone else has used that. Or I could just soak them in soap...

I'm not sure about the Clorox Cleanup. I've never used it so I can't really say for sure that it's safe or not. I just usually use Dawn Antibacterial dishwashing liquid and a scrub brush to wash toys and perches. Then rinse, rinse, rinse, and rinse some more. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I bleach the cage parts before we build the cages, when I do so I RINSE a million times.. but thats all I do with bleach- I use a steam cleaner for regular cleaning of the cage and soapy water followed by a good rinsing for toys and the wheel...

I use the clorox clean up, you have to rinse until you can't feel the bleach on there any more. Clorox clean up is soap with bleach, so it sticks to the stuff more. You just have to rinse more, use hot water, it rinses it off better. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

We put our gliders' toys and wheels in our dishwasher and run it through short cycle, no detergent. Works great.

If you do use bleach, then add 3% bleach to whatever amount of water for best results. No less, no more.

I have used clorox clean up for over a year with no problems. I do rinse well or use a wet rag on the cage after using the clean up. I think it works well and the gliders have been healthy.

well, i finally found regular bleach, and i was so scared about bleach still being on it that i rinsed the bleach off a million times, and then washed them again with soap and water hahah!
