Shawna - what an ordeal!

I'm so sorry you are going through this! I wish I could do more to help, but all I can do is offer hugs! Hang in there....

Shawna can you get some of those POP Up dog crates at Walmart. Even though they are cloth you could toss them into the shower with bleach easy enough.

shawna, i'm so sorry you have all this going on! i wish i was close enough to help! the pop up kennels are an awesome emergency or travel cage! we bought one when we first got our gliders, we got an extra large one, i think it was $35? but the smaller ones would make good hospital cages and are less expensive. thanks for sharing the link brenda... i hadn't looked for them online and when we got ours it was the first time i'd even seen them! i'll bookmark that site.

Talking to Karen, I think I have the hospital cage thing figured out. I forgot about some smaller cages I have. Now I have to go home and dig them out, and clean them, move gliders. LOL, it's certainly never dull at my house.

I'm sorry the girls aren't getting better. To have to worry about diarrhea on top of everything else... hug2 Frequent SQ helped Kira when she was going through that. And I found that using a larger needle was so much faster to get the fluid in when she was fussy. There is a little more of a stick, but you get so fast at it, they hardly notice (at least Kira didn't). dunno

(((Hugs))) to you and all of your kiddos. I everybody starts feeling better soon. hug2

Okay, here we go...vet visit for all 5 Saturday morning.

I don't think Biscuit is sick, or if he is I caught it really, really early. He hasn't show a single symptom since that first night, and that may have been paranoia on my part. He is still on meds though, since I started them. 2 weeks.
Sugar seems to be feeling better a bit. She still has the runs, but they are starting to take shape, a bit. I think she is lonely, so I may put her next to the girls tomorrow. Not in the same cage, though, because I can't monitor food intake if I do.
The girls seem to be feeling a little better as well, but are not eating. They alternate between soft poo, and runny poo. I have seen all 3 of them sitting on their back end/feet, but kind of curled over a little, like their tummies hurt. Any thoughts there would be much appreciated.

Tonight, all 3 of them got HPW, meat sticks, ensure and grapes, the twins got some avacado, they just don't have the weight to lose. Right now, mostly with the twins, it is feed them anything they'll eat.

Cooper is off the disabled list, he is back on active status!!!! dance dance

The girls are all sick (duh). Because I have them on meds already the doc didn't find anything. He did a direct, float and a stain. He didn't find any parasites. He said "I dug through all of your poop and couldn't find anything". He prescribed carafate to add to their daily meds. It's blue. Very weird. Anyhoo, he said physically they are fine, but have runny poos (I can't spell the d word, which is why I never use it) and a lack of appetite. He also looked for blood, but found none. He said the carafate would bind to any ulcers in their digestive system and prevent them from bleeding.

He said that the chance of the chance of the girls having the same thing Coop had is very, very slim. The staph that Coop had isn't contaiguous (sp?). (They did a culture of Coops in the office, then also sent it out to a lab for testing) Peggy, I'm sorry I scared you.

Biscuit is not sick, I'm just paranoid.

off_topic However, I am sick. I have a cold. The lady at the gas station this morning, one I've never been to, don't know her at all, said, "Are you sick? Your face looks puffy." cry I must look truly awful! LOL

Well, Mom (Sugar) is back to normal with the exception of no solid poops yet. She is eating and playing fine, and hasn't lost any weight--part of the reason I asked about the thyroid thing. But, even though the poo's aren't solid, it is normal colored and will hold shape.
The twins, Doodle and Cuddle have started eating on their own!!!! WooHoo! Last night was night 3 of them doing this. Their activity level is still down, but their poops are normal, and they are eating, so...I am giving them avacado, meal worms, baby food banana yogurt, veggies, meat sticks, baby food mango, and HPW in a seperate bowl. They do not eat it all, and I'm not suprised, there is a lot of food there. I know that sounds like a diet nightmare, but for now the motto is "Whatever they will eat" as their weight got down in the low 70's. Doodle's fur is back to normal, so is moms, but Cuddle is still a little clumpy looking.
I have been so sick the last few days, that I am grateful that they can eat on their own. It is a chore for me to feed them at all. Much less by hand, plus, I imagine me sneezing would scare them to death! LOL
They are getting better, it's just slow. No one else has gotten sick. I'm thankful for this.

Shawna, we may not have had to worry about Cooper being contagious, but I think YOU are...I am starting to show the same symptoms and not feeling up to par myself and I blame YOU!! roflmao

Glad to hear the kids are eating good. Dont worry, all of them will have healthy coats before too long.

I am feeling better, thank you!

One tragedy out of this, I can't put Sugar back in with the girls, they are scared of her, and she didn't want to go to them. So, I will have to find another cage for her. I moved her cage next to my trio tonight, and they are already chatting laugh
