I live in springfield, I have lived in virden, pawnee, and a couple of other little towns!

If you have it in the Chicago area would you please include the Wisconsin Area people. I go to Chicago all the time for Parrot stuff and bird fairs.

LOL - We've HAD this conversation at least twice! I know - because the second one, I kept... knowing I'd just forget it again!

We are just over half an hour apart? I'm right near Elgin.

I would love to get together on a regular basis with other glider owners from the area! And yes - plan a bigger gathering ... I had a knitting group that met once a month ... why not a glider group!!??

Why don't we have it at different houses each time? That way people in different areas of IL will be able to come. One month we'll have it in Northern IL, the next in Southern IL. Of course, we won't all be able to make it to each one(like me, cause I HATE driving, lol), but at least everyone will get to go to one. Also, it will take the burden off of those hosting the meeting, they won't have to do it every month.

Or we could just meet in the middle...Springfield sounds nice!!!

It wasn't your fault-SM isn't anyone's fault. And his story has helped other gliders get help since. He'll always be around in Spirit . I know I'll never forget him. I'm so glad you have another little one...they don't replace the ones we've lost, but they do help fill the hole they leave behind and carve a place all their own.

NOTE: Napoleon was one of the first SMs I helped with after Riker-he was the worst case scenario in action. A number of members owe their gliders to this little guy, whether they know it or not. Shanna did EVERYTHING right, and he was still lost-to his own teeth when he slipped his collar on the way to the vet-in a matter of minutes, without making a SOUND. I will never, ever forget sweet little Nappy. I still think about him often.

There is a Glider Group in Miami that meets roughly once a month. I'm not sure exactly what they do each time ... but it isn't a huge planned out thing like our get-togethers. More casual. I would love to be able to do something like that on a regular basis. Maybe get together for a pot-luck once a month or so?

I think I'm going to start that up ... if I ever get that motivated!
