This was amazing thing ever, but kinda scary at the same time!!!!! My glider was at the bottom of the cage and gave birth and I got to see the joeys come out and then I was watching the joeys tryin to get to the pouch and they fell off into the poop pan so I picked them up gently and my husband helped me get her into the sleeping pouch and held the momma so I could get the joeys into the mommas pouch and I got them in and we fed momma some mealies and then she just sat in my hand opened her pouch and licked her babies and got them attatched!!! It was AMAZING and my husband got a pic of them in my hand!!! IT was scary but had a wonderful outcome!!!!! I just had to share this with everyone!!! the joeys were soo tiny I cant even begin to explain it!!
oh my god, they look like little red ants in the picture. thank goodness you were around at the right time. these are miracle babies. i hope everything turns out ok with these babies.
You must have an amazing bond with your gliders. It was a good thing you were there to help.

Holy Cow! You know I have read how small they are, but I guess it is hard to picture. I have been reading a lot of posts on GC of people witnessing the birth of their joeys- lucky!

I am so glad it all worked out so well and she allowed you to help her get them into her pouch. I will never forget the time that Daisy gave birth while I was holding her It's one of those 'once in a lifetime' experiences, for sure!
wow how lucky for you to be there and experience that.!

Can i email your picture to my grandmother? She has no computer but she can check her email from her phone and she has always wanted to see what a baby suggie looked like.
Let me know. Thanks.
I love my Speedy, Roxy, Chance,Isabella and Gabriella:)
They are tiny, and it is amazing, but they are a heck of a lot bigger than grains of rice, which I ridiculously heard people sprouting about. How big are some peoples grains of rice?? LOL!
Father of 6 Sugar Gliders (4 female, 2 male), 6 Inland Bearded Dragons (4 female, 2 male), 1 guinea pig (female), 1 female cat (DOB: 11/1/09), 1 female Sheltie dog (DOB: 5/13/10), 1 male Japanese Spitz dog (DOB: 7/4/11) and numerous goldfish.
I always heard (and have repeated) a cooked grain of rice. When I saw Kira birth her joeys, they were not much larger than a cooked grain of rice, really. I imagine size can depend slightly on the gliders, just like babies are born at such different sizes/weights.

If we never loved, then maybe we would never feel pain. Love anyway. It's worth it.
Amanda, how is mommy and her little ones doing? That truly is amazing, and a true miracle that you were there and were able to help get those little ones back to mommy. My prayers are with them.
That is just beyond crazy! Congrats on getting them rescued. Great picture too! Fingers crossed that these special babies make it all the way! They so deserve it!
On a second thought...I wonder how many of us loose joeys in this very way?! Where they fall off?! It's kinda sad!
Wow! I thought this was an awesome store THEN I looked at the pics and got covered in goosebumps!!! You know you have to keep us posted on these babies!!!!
Im still not sure about the joeys! Thats why I havent posted but it looks like one of them survived but I havent messed with her I dont want her under any stress but I will update soon!!!
