I got a pair of females from a breeder (this are not my first gliders btw)..and he was going to make me a cage he said out of PVC coated mesh. Ended up using Galvanized. Up until this point, they've been in his PVC coated cage though. So until I get a new cage they are in the galvanized..
I need to find a cage . I've already looked into

Martin's Cages, and most likely will get one from there.. or a place in my state that makes custom cages.. there are a few pet stores in town that have nice taller coated bird cages that I've used in the past..just have to go tomorrow when they open to see what anyone has. If not may have to order or build..
Other ideas for good places to order? And, ideas on DIY, like I need to check Home Depot and the other hardware stores here to see if anyone has PVC coated stuff.

well doesn't look like I'll be building because no one in town carries pvc coated mesh. So after checking pet stores tomorrow to see if they happen to have a can in that'll work..I'll be looking into ordering one.

Why would I not be able to show any pictures on the forums?
I really need to know more about places online to buy cages I guess, since there's no one in town with the supplies..it'd be faster.

Call Klubertanz or look up www.klubetanz.com and they will help you with the cage supplies you need. Ask for Richard and he is very helpful. Klubertanz carries PVC coated wire many of us use in our gliders' cages. I hope you get what you need.

Can it wait for me to order it and put it together or should I just hurry up and buy a ready made cage?

I ordered a custom cage yesterday from Martin Cages and I got it today! I dealt with Diane through emails and she was extremely helpful. An hour after I ordered a cage they sent me a tracking number.

I got one beautiful cage from Suncoast...you can literally sit on top of it (if you can climb up there..lol) and it wouldn't give a bit. I also got another white lovely cage with a house roof top for Grace on ebay...price was only 40 bucks including shipping..it's gorgeous!

A tip on temporary use of the galvanized cage is to wash it with vinegar. Scrub it with vinegar and let it set for a few minutes. Then rinse well with clear water. This will remove most of the zinc powder. Wipe it down each day and wash it with the vinegar weekly. The powder will continue to build up as long as you have the cage. The first washing is the most critical.
It will be worth the wait to get the pvc coated wire cage. The doors on most bird cages come open to easily. Use twist ties on them for safety.

Thanks for the vinegar tip! Before when I used bird cages I used little snaps for the doors to lock them.

I agree with Badgersmommy. Suncoast is great. I ordered a cage and got it next day. (I live in FL though) Shipping is only 5$ per order no matter where you live. If you bought a cage nearly anywhere else it would cost just as much as the cage to ship it. I would really look into Suncoast. I got the cage with the stand and it is great. Very easy to put together and a great price. Hope this helps a bit.
