I had to take Florianna back to the vet Thursay morning before we left, she got out of her e-collar again and started chewing on her leg again. Dr. King had put the stitches on the outside last time and I think she didn't like them AT ALL! So then this time he put in microscopic stitches and put a bandadge on her arm...but when we got to the hotel Thursday evening, her little hand was cold, swollen and purple, so I got that bandage off as fast as I could! The color and size have gone back to normal, thank goodness. And she hasn't touched it since.

I am so sorry Virginia. Praying she leaves it alone!

Florianna is doing great on her road trip with her Daddy and I. Her hand and patagium are back to normal, no damage done, Thank God! Her arm is healing nicely, but I think she'll be by herself for quite a few weeks till it heals. She's getting to be a spoiled, rotten, brat! But I love it!

Oh thank goodness she is okay! Great news I was so worried about her little hand! I have seem some swollen hands myself, it's so scary!

This was a VERY scary situation! When I saw her hand, I just KNEW I was going to have to have her arm amputated. And as I snipped off the bandage and revealed her patagium, it was just as swollen and purple as her hand! It was awful! Thank goodness it didn't take the swelling long to go down, otherwise we would have been looking for an exotic vet on the road somewhere! Thanks for everyone's concern. I really appreciate it. And the hugs, and the prayers! LOL

Just wanted to update everyone on Florianna's arm. Here are a couple of pictures:

She looks a little worse for wear, cause she doesn't have Blaise with her to groom her. I've been trying, but I guess it's not the same! She's doing very well. But I have some sad news...she pulled her baby. I guess it was the stress of everything happening. However, I WAS concerned about the baby because of Florianna being under anesthetic so much.

And now, I'm going to have to re-introduce her to Blaise and Mignon. She's been away from them for about 3 weeks now. I held her up to Blaise's cage the other day and he went nuts! I guess I'll have to mark her up with Blaise's scent real good! LOL

She is so beautiful!!! She looks sleepy

I pray she heals up completely with no lasting effects. You've done a great job with her!!

It looks like her arm is healing well, I'm so glad she is doing better, Virginia! I am sorry about the joey, though. I hope intros go well for her (and you)! Thank you for keeping us updated!

Thanks everybody...and can't you tell I've been giving her extra mealies? LOL

She's really looking great Virginia! I'm sorry to hear about the joey though... But like you said, there could have been complications from the anesthesia.
