I have a pair of gliders who I think might be mating. Last night right before I went to sleep, he was "mounted" on her, but they didn't really seem to be doing anything. Neithe of them was upset or vocal, so I thought nothing of it and went to sleep. I awoke this morning to find them in the same exact place as where I left them the night before. And none of their food has been touched. I think they stayed there the whole night. I am very worried because it seems to me that my male just doesnt want to get off her back. After a while of sitting there she started to move around but he went with her. Is he not letting her eat? I don't know if its a problem becasue she didnt make any noises or anything like that to try and get him away. They are in their pouch now, but didnt eat much or at all. Should I give them new food this morning incase them come out for it?

Update: After I had been up a while he let her go and they were apart for a bit. But when I tried to hold her came back over and is now on her back again. They are both pretty "wet" looking (espcailly their tails) because I think they have been grooming each other.

[:"green"]What you have described is definitely mating and all perfectly normal. She may try to move around the cage, but he will stay on top of her the whole way. Their tails are wet from the mating process - again, this is normal. Not eating for about 24 hours during the height of mating is normal, too. If it makes you feel better to leave some fresh food for them, go ahead, but chances are that they won't touch it, either. When they're done with the frenzy, they will eat again with ravenous appetites so make sure you give a bit extra tonight. Relax & hopefully you'll have a joey or two in pouch in about 16 days <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />.
