I think my sugar glider is pregnant again (it only looks like one this time) This will be their second baby. I still have their first one, she is 9 weeks OOP and i don't know if i should keep her in their with the mom and dad anymore. The pet store (which more and more seems like they know nothing about how to take PROPER care of them) said the mom might attack the 9 week baby so i tried seperating her but the little girl was so upset she didn't eat so i put her back inside her parent's cage. What should i do?!?!?

It really depends on the gliders. Some mom's are more than happy to let their older joeys help out when it comes time to raise a new joey. Other gliders, will chase off their older joeys and not let them near the new baby. I would just play it by ear.

[:"green"]I think that it's okay to leave the joey with the mother for now. Usually, by the time my Bittah's joeys are about 4 weeks o.o.p. she has more joeys in pouch. So, by the time the new joeys come o.o.p., the first joeys are about 12 weeks old. As Leyna said, sometimes they will allow the older joey to help raise the younger ones, and sometimes not <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nixweiss.gif" alt="" />. You just need to be very aware of your gliders' interactions with each other <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif" alt="" />.
Also, be aware that you should separate the joey by the time she's about 4 months old, at the latest, so that there is no chance of her getting impregnated by her father. Gliders mature at different ages and it would be a shame if she went into puberty early <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shakehead.gif" alt="" />:.

The baby is actually suppossed to be getting a new mommee this Saturday or Sunday so she won't be with me much longer <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> but the woman who is buying her adores her glider so i know she will be taken care of.

Oh she will be Jessica I promise! LOL I am the new Mommy, and the 9 week olds name is Nyx. And yea, Nyxie should be just fine in there with Mom and Dad, shes young enough that there shouldnt be an issue with anyone hurting her. Yay for new babies though! LOL That was quick... He truly is a Romeo. LOL
