We were wondering what the legal status of Gliders is in European countries; namely the UK area. If anyone knows of a website where this information can be found, please let us know.
Thanks!

I believe they are legal in the UK, as we have several members who live there. Unfortunately, I don't know of a website that has any information

It looks to me like they have them there. A little inaccurate info on the site but most of it is ok. That is good to know though. Thanks!

I would imagine the UK to be alot like the USA...each "State" having it's own laws and rules...but what do I know...LOL...Maybe one of our members from the UK could do some checking for you...

The uk (not including Scotland) has one law, and gliders are perfectly legal, in fact defra the usda equivalent has no idea as to what a sugar glider is never mind how to classify it!!! Jeees - we spoke to a chap at defra head office in the RABIES DEPARTMENT who had no idea a Mink was actually an animal - he thought it was just a coat!!!
You can keep pretty much anything in the Uk assuming you have the correct licence. You don't need a licence of any sort for a glider.

The only problem is if you want to bring your gliders with you to the UK, I spent Friday afternoon on the phone to defra (as I was going to buy a glider from the US) to be told that he would need to be quarantined for 6 months. Which would be fine - if I was in charge of his keeping, but that's not possible apparently.
