i was wondering how big my future gliders cage should be???
and i need ideas on what to put in my gliders cage please help <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thanx.gif" alt="" />

Minimum suggested size for one or two gliders is 3foot tall x 2 foot wide x 2 foot deep. However, the bigger the better! If given an option, taller is always better. My pair are in a cage that is 3 foot wide, 20 inches deep and 4 1/2 foot tall and seems to work great.

im only going to get one glider but i dont want her to feel confined if you know what i mean=]

and also what should the cage be made of???

Cages can be made out of PVC coated (plastic) wire, Powder coated wire, Plastic mesh, stainless steel(very expensive!). The one thing it should NOT be made out of is galvanized metal. Cedar should never be used. Pine can be used but only if it has been sealed with shallac (4-5 coats). Never use pine or cedar wood shavings as bedding as they both release toxic oils when wet that can cause respitory problems.

so can i use plexi glass for walls or should it kinda be like a bird cage i mean anything thats best for the glider

Plexi glass isn't a good idea as they need ventilation and need to be able to climb on the walls. If you go to the Gallery link at the bottom of the page, there are pictures of cages there. Some are quite elaborate, some more simple. Attached is a pic of two of my cages.

This is my other cage. It is 6 feet tall and has my colony of 6 gliders in it.
