Try to get/use horizontal bars. they just slide down the vertical ones.

I believe mine is somewhere around 3/4x3/4 and it is perfect. Just big enough for them to be able to see out comfortably as well as hang all their toys but small enough that they can't stick their head or any other body part out.

That's the standard response; but it has been reported that very young joeys can escape even from wire of those dimensions.

Bar Spacing all depends on what the cage is for and the gliders in the cage.
For large (over 100 grams) non-breeding gliders you can hae up to 5/8" bar spacing
For normal use breeding or non-breeding 1/2"
For excape artist 3/8" or repatiums

My parrot cage has 5/8" bar spacing, and I have to say... I wouldn't feel secure that it would hold ANY of my gliders in. But, I also don't have any exceptionally large gliders, so maybe that would be different. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
Matt, honestly I'm very surprised that 3/4" spacing holds your gliders in. Mine would be out before I could turn around. Are you sure that's what it is?
