Baybe had a very VERY special place in my heart. Just like her mom does. I just got off the phone with B. Needless to say, this is the hardest thing she has had to deal with.

Baybe was like no other glider. Many Many Many of us can tell you that. She is at the rainbow bridge now.

Bourbon, you know I am with you in spirit. I wish there was more for you. Just think, she has a good person taking care of her now, Tom will make sure she is happy.

I can't begin to tell you how very sorry I am to hear this. Baybe was a very special glider and she will be missed greatly.

Baybe has touched so many of us both literally and through your stories of her.

I feel honored to have been one to have held her and nuzzled her on more than one occasion. She was without a doubt an extraordinary glider filled with so much love and trust for us strange humans.

Ohhhh, how sad. I still remember the firt time I met Baybe and Bourbon and it is as if it were yesterday. It was a few days or so after the 1999 SGGA that Bourbon drove here to the Kansas City area. Baybe was a mama too with a little baby that was between four or five weeks oop.

Baybe loved Bourbon and Bourbon loved Baybe. Now Baybe has gone off to be with Smokey.

May fond memories of Baybe bring smiles to your face in time. We in the Glider Community who knew Baybe will miss Baybe too.

This is truly a very sad day in the glider community. Baybe will be missed so much by us all of us who had the honor of knowing her and holding her, loving her and owning her babies. She is truly one of a kind.

Oh Bourbon, such a sad sad day my friend....Baybe was such a special sweet soul. I will also never forget the first time I held her at the KC SGGA...she watched your every move as you were unpacking in your room. And Smokey could have cared less, lol...he just wanted to check out those nifty curtains over the window . Gosh, seeing Baybe was always a highlight whenever we got together...she will be missed greatly .

This was sadly the first post I read this morning and I am still sitting here shocked and in tears.

I had the pleasure of meeting, snuggling, and being held by Baybe. I got to hear many times over the phone, how Baybe wanted to hold your grand daughter. Baybe taught so much to so many of us and is the poster glider for the love and bond that a glider and human can have. I've never seen a glider love her human as much as Baybe loves you. Baybe held so many hearts, every one she came in contact with. There are few gliders as special as Baybe and it is so heartbreaking to know she is gone from us physically. Her love will always remain with us and I will treasure the memories I have of that sweet sweet girl.

I know your phone is probably going crazy so I'll hold off calling but...Please call me whenever you need. Love ya Bourbon!

Oh no! My condolances, Bourbon. I feel honored to have met both you and Baybe.

I'll always remember the day I met you, and when you held out your hands to me and placed a little ball of fluff in my hands, and that's how I met Baybe. The prettiest and most gentle glider I've ever seen. She sat perfectly content on my arm, and we asked if she was usually that calm and content and you said "that's Baybe!"

I'm so glad and honored that I got to meet and hold Baybe, a celebrity in the glider world. May she rest in peace, and may we all cherish the time we were so lucky to have spent with her.

I was shocked to see the banner and hear about Baybe. I can't say what hasn't been said and what you already know, Bourbon, but I'm just so sorry. We all learned at the feet of Baybe and will deeply miss her. Our hearts are with you now.

Oh Bourbon-I know how it was for me to lose that one, most-special glider. And I know how hard you fought the kidney failure with all of the knowledge and love and respect you have for gliders. Baybe is now beyond the pain and the struggle. Words just aren't enough to ease this type of pain in your heart. Lean on all of those who love you: two- and four-legged. And call-any time-night or day.

I have spent most of the morning looking for my pic's of baby. I can't seem to find them. I had a great one of her eating pie I once posted here. I know B lost her pic's when her puter crashed this last month. If anyone has the pic I am speaking of please include it for B.

I am so hurt but this loss. I just had Baybe in my bra less than 2 weeks ago. I was holding out for the next SGGA. I gave her a kiss but I did not say good by. I will miss her greatly and B I am here when you are ready.

B, I'm so sorry about the loss of Baybe. I was honored to have been one of those you called this morning. I'm at work, so I didn't see until now that there was a post up.

I've never had a glider (other than my own) touch me so much as when I saw and held Baybe. There was just something about her eyes and the gentle way she looked at you and the trusting way she even looked at strangers that was truly unique to her. She was just a wonderful representative of what gliders can be like for people who are new to the glider world. She was truly an icon in the glider community and will be sorely missed.

I first met you and Baybe at the 2005 SGGA in Arkansas, but at the last SGGA, I was honored to have been one of those who got to hold Baybe and carry her in my bra for a while. I was nervous when I had her though because I didn't want "it" to happen while she was with me. I'm glad to know she was with you when she passed. Now she's with Smokey and they will be together waiting for you and playing at the bridge.

I'm sooooo very sorry for your loss! And its a great loss.....sending hugs and thoughts your way.

No words can express how saddened I was to see this post and the banner. Although I never met her, I know from the posts that Baybe was a very special glider and that she will be greatly missed by many.

Oh! I'm so terribly saddened by this news. I never had the pleasure of meeting Babye in person (or you), but I know how much you both have enriched and educated the glider community (as well as me, personally). I also know how heartwrenching it is to lose such a special wee one, one whose trust and love wasn't given freely, but that you had to earn. There truly is no deeper bond. And it lasts beyond the limits of physicalities or time or space. She's with you in spirit, waiting at the Rainbow Bridge.

My heart aches SO BADLY to read this news! (the people in my office are looking at me like I just heard that one of my own children passed on....THEY JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND)

I just got off the phone with Leigh (LAB123) & relayed the news to her...she STILL has the pictures that she took of Baybe last October on her digital camera...(I remember that weekend as if it were just last week, how wonderfully cooperative Baybe was & her "posing" for all of us)....I told her these have GOT TO GET LINKED TO YOU OR ME (OR BOTH OF US) TODAY!!

I'll be coming down (hopefully) next month to give you in person....until then, know that you're in my & I'm saying prayers for all of you and Baybe Girl, too!

I am so sorry B. I never got to meet the famouse Baybe but learned to love her through all the stories you posted about her. I have really learned alot from you and her and thank you both. Sending lots of HUGS your way.

Although we have never met, I have a deep admiration and respect for everything that you've done for the gliders and their owners. Bourbon, dear heart, please know you can call. I was sort of oop today and just came here given the chance, and what a thing to come on to! I'll be home and up all day tomorrow after I get off work (or I'm here tonight 11-7am and it's slow, and avail. by cell).

I know the pain and heartbreak of loss, but can't imagine one I've had that long going to the Bridge. I know it will tear my heart out when Riker finally makes that journey. Some of these guys not only entwine our hearts, but our souls as well, and the physical, emotional, spiritual pain when the leave is nearly unbearable-and that's what friends are here for.

Baybe was special in a dozen different ways and no mistake. I was honored to finally get to make her acquaintance at the '06 SGGA. She will never be gone so long as she lives in the hearts and memories of those of us who met and loved such a precious little soul. Let me know if there's anything you need, and know she lived a long, happy life with you, knew absolute love and devotion from her chosen person, and no glider could ask for more than she had with you. Bourbon I heard about this yesterday and I am still in shock and tears. If you need anything, we are all here for you. I wrote a little something on some other forums, but here is another Baybe moment. Not only was Baybe the first glider other than my own I met at the SGGA 2005 (my first SGGA) but she was the one that brought you and I together. We had never met before that moment in person, and I believe she helped us set our differences aside and become good friends as we are now.

I know how much my heart is breaking, I can not imagine the grief you are experiencing. I am here for you, call, come over, or I'll come to you. When you are ready, I am here. I love and respect you more than anyone will ever understand.

Sending prayers and lots of hugs your way. I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Baybe but I have read her story and she sounded like a very happy and loved little girl. She will be truely missed. May God be with you and your family.

this is nikki, bourbon's daughter. My daddy sent this to my mom and I got it today.

I have been reading the posting about baybe's beginning and part 2, and I remember how much fun we had while working with Baybe and Smokie, and I know that yoou are the one that tamed both of them and I really miss Smokie and I will miss Baybe as well. I know that I wasn't there always while you went through all of this but I will not forget what you went through all this time. I truly will miss Baybe so very much. I also know that there are no words that can comfort you now. I know that yu had a special bond with Baybe and Smokie that cannot be explained or taken away.
I wish that I could have been there all the while, and I do Love Sugargliders, and I appreciate all that you have done for them, even if you don't think I do. I just wasn't in to following everything like you. I love you so much and I am grieving along with you because I was there when it all began and I will not forget.Love you with all my heart

Oh B.. I'm so very very sorry for the loss of such a special little girl, and am so honored I had the opportunity to meet her. She truly was a unique glider, I'd read about her so long, and can still remember asking to see her being one of the first things out of my mouth at your home for the TN gathering. I'm glad I made it to that, I'm glad I had a chance to meet you AND her, and I'll never forget being "scolded" for allowing her to go down my shirt... She is going to be missed by many people. I know time will heal your grief and pain, you are supported by a large group of loving people while that grief subsides. Many hugs and much love I am sending your way, hon.

I just logged on after being away for several days. I just read about Baybe.
It is hard to stop crying to write - but my heart hurts for you and Baybe. You loved each other. Were bonded.
You are loved, Bourbon -- so many are sharing your pain. Our arms are around you and our prayers are for you.
You were honored with the most special relationship with Baybe. She was a wonderful lady -- we, too, will miss her and are thankful that we could know you both.
We are all here for you.

Lori, I am going to try and do this. But it has taken me so long since you called me that morning to even believe she is not with us now.

The loss of Tom and then Baybe has been just to much for me to get my mind around.

Remember when you and Babye came and stayed with us? SO much fun.

I will never get over how Baybe saved Luna's life that night.

I am so very sorry for your loss.

I'm not quite sure what to say. This certainly wasn't what I expected to see when I signed on today after being out of town for a bit. Baybe was an exceptional girl who will obviously be so very missed by all that had the pleasure of meeting her or even just reading about her. I remember meeting her at the 05 SGGA. She was quite the popular little girl. Everyone wanted to spend time with her, including me. I had heard so much about the infamous Baybe. It was an honor to finally meet her and her Mommy. You, and all who knew and loved her, will be in my thoughts and prayers, Bourbon. I'm so very sorry.

Bourbon, for the last couple of nights I have woken up at 3 am and have been unable to go back to sleep. I have had thoughts about life, children,friends, my pets, family - basically everything that God has given us to bring me joy in life. My husband once told me that animals don't have souls and God just gives us them for our pleasure. In a way I don't like the idea that animals don't have souls, but I like the part about the pleasure. Life can be cruel with ugliness and part of that is being separated from something we love. Companionship is a treasure and the fact that Baybe gave you joy and companionship and you gave her the same is a true gift that you experienced that many people never have. Many here would have loved or would love to have that with their glider. Many watch what you do with your Babybe so that they can have the same relationship with their pets. Some succeed and most don't because after a period or time, they give up or go on to other things that can expedite their need for satisfaction or companionship. The beautiful thing about
Baybe was your relationship with her. Many marriages don't stay together as long as you to did. Most of your time you had with her was good because she felt you were there for her. Companionship is the most important element to ensure the happiness of a sugar glider. Because of that companionship you had with her, she was happy. Can all of say that our pets, children, spouce, boyfriend are perfectly happy with our company? I don't think so, but Baybe could say that about her life with you. There is nothing in the Bible about animals being with you when you die. I do know that God has shown us that he gives us pets for our good pleasure. If they bring us pleasure here in life, why not have those same things in heaven that we so enjoy? The mystery of this will only be shown when we die. I do know that with the gift God gave you Bourbon, your little Baybe, you have been faithful to Him and grateful to Him by showing your love to her and devoting your whole self to her, her entire time on earth. Because of that response to the gift, you life will be blessed. I just know it will be. Thank you Bourbon for giving yourself to her. As Baybe would have said, "Thanks Mom for being the best companion and friend ever."

Baybe has a soul, she wasn't man's best friend but Bourbons. I have a firm belief that I will see all my babies over the Rainbow Bridge. God Bless and see ya there

You should tuck a sugar glider in his pocket, see that he gets a face hug and some suggie kisses, and he'll change his tune real quick! Any animal lover who's looked into the eyes of critters large or small knows that they most certainly do have souls.

I never knew Baybe. I only know of Bourbon.

But looking at her photos. She has the eyes of a very very old soul. She knew her purpose here. And she Chose Bourbon to help get the message out.

13 years of living, teaching, loving and caring.

She's an amazing Soul, as is Bourbon to be open to the message of one very special Glider.

She will be missed... but never forgotten.
