What detergents are safe?
Is any brand safe as long as it meets a certain requirement?
How to wash?
With other laundry items or not?
Does the water temperature matter?

Hello!

I pre soak their bedding in white vinegar and warm water in a bucket to help with urine smells. At least an hour and rinse.

Then I use an unscented laundry detergent like arm and hammer, drift, or unscented laundry sheets. I usually wash with my regular clothes. Warm water , no fabric softener. No Pods, orange detergent that has built in fabric softener.

I use dryer on medium or low or hang outside in the sunshine. No dryer sheets.

Be sure to check everything for holes or loose threads before putting away or back in their cage.

What's the vinegar-to-water ratio you use?
My laundry comes out warm from the dryer with a light scent to it, but it's an unscented detergent
Is that ok?
The scent is not strong, but I don't know if that's just normal
Would I have to ensure the vinigar scent it 100% out of the fabric before washing to ensure scent familiaryity?

I don't have gliders yet, but will the general new scent of the cage be super overwhelming for them?
And if they pee on everything to familiaryize scent and it smells super bad, should I wash them or not because of that?

I don't think the current fost home can have them use the pouches before adoption

We just throw our in with what ever detergent we are using for our clothes.

I use about 1 cup white vinegar to a gallon of water. It helps release the urine and their marking smell.

I do a quick rinse, the vinegar smell goes away once it's washed again and dried. A slight fragrance is fine. I set my laundry load up for a second rinse to make sure.

Its ok for the fleece to be warm when it comes out of the dryer. Following these guidelines will extend the life of the fleece.

i checked my detergent, and it's:
Fragrance-free, hypoalergenic, no residues, biodegradable, no SLS, no SLES (whatever that is), ultra concentrated, no brighteners ect.
It's all for the environment, so this all means it's safe, I believe
