Hello!! I now have 4 gliders. I just bought the double critter nation cage and an add-on unit. So it will be 3 levels. I have read where people say how to alter the critter nation, especially the bottom drup/fece tray, to be able to put under the cage. My biggest question now is how can you clean the bottom floor well, since it does not slide out etc, the droppings will fall thru to the catch tray, but there's urine that gets on that bottom floor and it will need to be cleaned very well to keep urine smell away or minimized.

I guess I'm asking for tips on cleaning the critter nation, in all aspects. There's so many nooks and crannies where all the nasty leaks and gets into.

I love how the doors open wide open to get to corners etc. I just need assistance or advice on best way to do the weekly cleaning along with the major cleaning that happen once a month or every 6 weeks.

Currently have the congo cage from exotic nutrion, the bottom grade slides out to clean well for it.

I just don't want a bad urine smell overpowering the rooms.

Thank you!

Hello! wave

The bottom grate is easy to wipe down even though you can't remove it as easily as a slide out grate. The advantage having a triple Critter nation is the doors open all the way so you can reach easier.

I just use a car mitt and hot water, or hot water and a bit of Dawn dish soap. Wipe down, let set a few minutes and rinse with hot water. I use this to clean all parts of my cages when the weather doesn't permit to take it outside. Here is a link to the type of car mitt I use. It's great for getting in corners and between the bars. I'm not sure if you have this store in your country, but it gives you an idea what I'm referring to.

I hope this helps.

I'd recommend trying to get simple Nature's Miracle scrubbing wipes and just clean off the bottom bars or large flat surfaces with waste on it daily, every other day, or as often as it smells to minimize the scent.
Nature's Miracle is approved by many glider owners and is cheap and safe to use. I have the spray personally.

Also, you can try to use (safe) scent-absorbent bedding that lasts a good amount of time on the tray under the bars, and you can simply replace it every few days or as needed.
