My Zoey was very recently diagnosed with cancer.. Carcinoma. This came out of absolutely nowhere, starting with a marble sized growth under her forearm and a second appearing on her abdomen shortly after. Within the first few days, both growing to roughly small grape sized.
After an immediate vet examination followed by a later days visit to a small animals hospital, Zoey's discharge / biopsy report were revealed and I was told by the doctors that removal of the tumors would be futile, as more would very likely appear again in short time; and that because of her small size, the options of chemotherapy, radiation therapy or electrochemotherapy were all non-viable, unsafe options to move forward with.
The end result from the hospital (similar to that of my vet) being that I'm to give Zoey an oral dose of Meloxicam, every 12 hours for pain management / anti-inflammatory to help keep her comfortable and MAYBE slow or prevent further growth of her tumors. The doctors also advised altering her diet to help increase her vitamin intake.
I am and have been of course following these instructions without hesitation, but Zoey's body is still seemingly failing her. Very poor balance and almost no strength left for her to hold on to me. Because of her condition, she has lost and is still losing a great deal of weight to the point of her spine being easily felt and visually identified. Her decreased appetite is of no help to this either and I'm struggling to get her to eat anything at all to put on even just a few more grams.
...i dont think that I need to express to any of you here just how devastated I am over this. She and her sister will be 10 this October and I've had them since they were joeys. Zero prior health issues for either of them. Before this, playing and behaving like a joey and her sister still does. I'm absolutely not willing to give up on her.. but I'm also trying my best to be realistic and not wanting to put her through further pain.
Can anyone here offer advice on how I can help her? Medically or dietary, anything, seriously all advice is welcomed. She's been unwilling to take the gut-loaded meal worms and I'm not sure what else I can offer her to help put some weight back on and regain some strength

Their diet consists of;
HPW complete
Leadbeaters diet
Gliderade
Insectivore diet (pellets)
Mazuri Gut-loaded meal worms
Assorted fruits / veggies

Occasionally;
hard boiled egg
Ground chicken
Avocado

I am very sorry that you're going through this. Cancer is basically a death sentence for out little ones.

I lost my boy Tucker to Sarcoma cancer. We removed the initial Robin's egg size mass and it cam back with a vengeance. I considered his quality of life when I made the decision to help him over the rainbow bridge.

He was only 4.

I suggest you consider quality of life for your little one. As far as feeding him, anything he will eat: Avocado, chicken turkey, yogurt (no artificial sweeteners).
Again I am very sorry you're going through this.

My little Zoey.. she's now made her journey across the rainbow bridge. This is so painful; it was the most heartbreaking thing to watch her sister Lily grieving over her after she'd gone.

I want for Zoey to be cremated, but I'm not sure I'd be willing to send her through the mail some place and have to trust in them to return me HER ashes.

Can any of you recommend a good, kind place they've taken their baby to for this? Please, I'm in western Massachusetts and I WILL drive a few hours, if I know it will be good for her

I would call your veterinarian to see what cremation service they send pets too.

I have googled these, I don't know if any of them are near you. Pet Cremation.
