Hello! Its been a long time since I have been on here. I'm sure a lot of things have changed in the past few years.
I'm finally getting another pair of gliders at the end of July of this year. It has been at least 4 years since I had by first pair that lived to be about 14 years. I have fed my gliders BML diet for the 14 years.

Anyways, I was curious about what are the recommended diets now? Right now these two are very overweight (their pervious owner adores them very much as has struggled with their weight)
and they are being fed the pocketpets kibble with their gravy and I want to change that. They were also offered a lot of different veggies and fruits every day. I would like to reduce the amount of treats and ect they are given as
well to bring their weight down (along with a better wheel) I think the last time I was pet sitting these guys the pervious owner has gotten some Critterlove? I might end up trying that if she did end up getting that since I am curious about it.

Thank you in advance. I did briefly peek into the diet studies and the vet tech in me is super curious about it.

:welcome: back!!!!

So all the diets you listed are still great diets. I haven't done much reading on the Pp diet, but I think there is something missing.

More exercise and fewer treats will be the key.

I've fed both BML and Critterlove diets. Mine did really well on Critterlove and I've stuck with it. I feed salad #3. Here is the direct link to the salad recipes and if you go to their menu bar you can order the CL staple.

There is a lot of good info on her website as well .

I just want to add that the Pocket Pets Glider Gravy is Critterlove Complete, Pocket Pets is just allowed to rebrand it. Pocket Pets diet has been tested and it is a good diet fed the way Pocket Pets says to feed it.

That being said, I have feed Critterlove Plus with the recommended Salad mixtures since Peggy released the diet to the public. It is the most tested diet out there, my gliders have been part of the testing.

It is also recommended now to not only have a water bottle, but offer a open water source. They may just play in it, but I have found that my gliders fur is so much nicer since I put in the small dish of water.

Huh that is very interesting that is the same but rebranded. I'll still probably try it. I know they don't eat the kibble just the gravy. They are fed a crap ton of different things and only have open water dishes. They never really had issues with fur staining and their fur is really nice.

Thank you for the welcome back and the information. It's very interesting.

I forgot to add that they are offered way to much at a time and they don't eat all of it and only pick out their favorites

I forgot my thought I think because reading it again today, it makes no sense! I'm on my phone and can't open the diet data base and tried to Google the diet with no luck. What I meant to say is I think there is more to the PP diet than the staple/gravy than feeding the pellets. I could be wrong,, but i think they have their own list of fruits and vegetables that are required as well. Or maybe the vitamin " sprinkles go over the f/v of your choice. Not sure. Also there is a serving requirement.
For all the above diets in to for them to get their nutrition, it should be fed by their recommended servings.

I hope this makes sense and is helpful.

I looked in our database and PP diet wasn't listed.

Critterlove Complete will be cheaper to purchase then the Glider Gravy. You can feed it with one of the five salads found here: Salad Mixtures

Thanks for the info! I plan on buying it directly from Critterlove anyway. I do have a feeling this person has some already but hasn't tried it yet. I pet sat for her before and remember seeing it.
