Got my sugar glider neutered. I have him in an e-jacket right now. How many days do I have to keep that on him? And should it be on 24/7 or should I give him breaks from it?

You can give him some supervised time out of the e-jacket. I have only had one glider need to stay in the e-jacket for a long period after a neuter.

What kind of procedure did they do?
Did they shave him?

And Feather I'm not sure if you're counting Stewie, but it's a long story...

Was his procedure complicated, or just a standard/normal neuter?

He will need help getting cleaned up since he can't do it himself.

What I learned from my experience was after I took it off for a bath and some cuddles while he dried completely, is whether or not he went after his procedure. I had to wait till the scab came off. It took 2 weeks. That was 2 baths. I would clean him up daily with a wet/wrung out warm washcloth.

The first week, he tried to open his wound. After the second week, he just groomed it. I kept him with me and watched for signs, and he was fine. I hope this helps.

They did the pom off method. They did shave him. They said everything went really well with his procedure and there weren't any complications.

Thank you, that was helpful!

Watch him close because they shaved him. We don't recommend shaving for neuters or tail amputations. It seems that they find the texture of the hair different, they keep grooming and the next thing you know they are using their teeth and then self mutilating.

This doesn't happen all the time.

If he leaves himself alone after he grooms the vet smell off of him, he most likely will be ok.
