Thanks to Feather (and Google for my program version, lol), I was able to convert the presentation to a video that can be posted for everyone to see! This is a long video with a lot of information, over 40 minutes! Please remember that this presentation is only preliminary information from the research project.
We are short of our financial goal, so if you haven't had the opportunity to make a donation so we can see this to its completion, you can still do so! Please visit the donation site HERE.
So, without further adieu....

Have you ever wondered if what you are feeding your glider is what their system actually needs? I have too!
That's why there is a nutritional/diet study for sugar gliders. The results of this study will help us in improving our captive diets for the overall health of our gliders. This study isn't going to answer all of our diet related questions, but it will provide us more information than we currently know today!
I completely agree! This will be a great at least (big) addition in the realm of research out there on our little friends. One thing my vet was talking to us about was that there really isn't a ton of research on them. This is amazing and way to go! I would be more than happy to help out with at least a small donation to such a good cause!
That's great! If you, or anyone else is interested in donating, we still have a ways to go to meet the financial goal. Here's the link to donate: Sugar Glider Diet/Nutrition Study 2014

The only thing I'm confused about in the Pocket Petsdiet is that are those gliders getting the 1/8 apple and "Glider'mins" that PP recommends. I just know some people don't follow through the diet all the way, but that is technically the full diet right?
I just donated to this research, and posted to my facebook.None of my friends and family have sugar gliders, but they love our Fiona. I hope they reach their goal! They are at $7300+ dollars with 78 days left!

So does anyone know what happened/is happening to this exiting project? Since it never became fully funded. Can we still expect some form of results published or is it totally cancelled now?
No, it isn't cancelled. But until the remaining funds are raised, the results will not be presented (the work has to be paid for). I will be setting up another fundraiser to try to raise the remaining funds. I will see if we can re-open the YouCaring page to accept donations.

Please try to reopen the page, and then repost the link to it. I'm working now so I will be able to make a donation. It may not be large due to working only part-time, but possibly I could make a few smaller donations over time that will amount to something.
I am anxious for results too! I want to know about the fuzz they found in the poo! I hope it's their own fur from grooming, not fleece. And if it is fleece, is it an issue.
I have made a donation, but willing to donate again... the suspense is killing me. Like when I watched soaps years ago...
Thanks Terry for opening the subject up again, I didn't want to be the only one .... Just hanging out there...

You're welcome, it came from another current thread going on. I had a really bad year last year and though was aware that this was taking place, I didn't really follow it due to I had no funds to help and well, I was just so bogged down trying to get some life back in me.
Maybe we should do something like an auction to help raise money. I would be willing to donate time and materials to sew 2 cage sets and or sleeping pouches, a bonding pouch, or even something unique.

Thanks for bringing this back up! I was just speaking with another glider owner about it this morning.
I will be conducting another fundraiser soon to try to raise the balance needed of $2,577.00. I will speak with Dr. Dierenfeld about opening the YouCaring funding page back up. Once its open, then I can post back here for anyone that is wanting to make a contribution directly to her fund.
