How do I get rid of ants without using something that might hurt my babies if they come in contact with an 'infected' ant??

Are the ants already in the house?

If they are not in the house you can sprinkle coffee grounds around the outside of the house to deter them.

Ants will not cross a line of ground cinnamon, put it across any entry points they use around your house and to disrupt the paths they travel along within the house - you'll probably need to do it several times as they find different ways to get in but eventually they give up and move on.

I'm so glad someone posted an ant topic. I've seen ants around my gliders' cage. Can I put the cinnamon around their cage to keep the ants away? is the cinnamon safe for the gliders? Please advise.
