Check out this previous thread I had on the same subject earlier this year: http://www.glidercentral.net/ubbthreads/...ge_#Post1389431Feel free to post in there with any questions you may have. Others have commented, not sure if in that thread or others, that they use large safety pins through the top, with the pin on the outside, to hang things from, like fleeces and such. Hope this helps, Phil

Dawn, thanks for the update, I love your suggestions as well, as I have said in other posts there is no one right answer to this, but I was guided toward what I ended up with by the great people of this online community at this site and it has worked very well for us.
Kage, I hope it works out as well for you as it did for us. As I stated in that thread, make sure you set them up and use them in your house so you know what works and what doesn't before you actually go on a trip. Make sure to keep your glider(s) in them all day/night for at least one full day so you can learn the in's and out's of that travel cage.
Phil

Phil, I've had these set ups for awhile and I bought them on the fly so to speak. (Last minute out the door) It worked out fine and actually helped our bonding process. Especially when visiting family. The sights and smells were different and the only thing familiar was our scent on their blankies changed out every day, and us of course.

Phil, yes I plan on doing what you have done or something similar. It would be helpful to use when you clean the cage and stuff as well. My girls traveled really well A few months ago. I had a different cage then but I'm loving the pop up kennel idea. Much easier to store for sure for sure! plus if something happens to them I can bring them to work since I work at an emergency vet clinic and work 12 hour shifts and they will be up by the time I leave since I work 1pm to 1am.

I have a small/medium finch cage that I used to use for a travel cage but it has become very rusted so I don't use it anymore. I actually need to throw it away. Now I just use the pop-up dog kennel. It can be set upon one end with the opening at the top or laid on its side(like it's meant to be for dogs) and is still tall enough for a regular Raptor wheel to be used easily with much more floor space than when it's upright.
