I saw this post and almost cried, its such a sad sight to see. The thing that confuses me though, is exactly how the axle killed it, it looks almost as if it was stabbed by it. I hope this will help to show the true dangers that wodent wheels possess.

It wasn't impaled. That would have been merciful. If you can't tell, it's probably better for you not to know. I can't get it out of my head.

To me it looks like the wheel was dirty as was the axle. The gliders patagium got stuck to the axle and got wound up, breaking the gliders back.
But that is just my take on the pictures.
