Scentsy rep here too!! I have one in the same room as the cage. LOVE it! Way better than burning a candle.. and it gives me a sense of ease to know they are safe.

Just wanted to say i burn candles all the time in the hall out side my glider room and as for inside i use electric candle warmers when i need to put a candle in their room they soften the scent but still get the job done and my suggies dont mind at all as long as you dont have them lit constantly and beside your suggies i doubt they will cause a problem besides anything is better than spraying an arasol air freshner in the suggie room mine get mad if i spray those anywhere in the house and they catch a wiff

We were burning candles out in our sunroom and we had the kids on us. It was early enough in the day that they were sleeping. They eventually woke up and started to jump around the room and play. We didn't even think about the candles until Shadelle knocked one over and got wax all over one side of her.I immediately started to examine her for burns as I wasn't sure how close to the flame she actually got (she tipped the dish when she landed on the table). She didn't have any burns anywhere and the wax hardened almost immediately. It was a white non scented candle. She spent the next 3 days trying to clean it out of her fur. She got very irritated if I tried to help. I can also tell you my cat has singed his fur multiple times on candles, just by getting too close with his tail. Though I adore candles, candles and pets make me nervous, the last thing I would want is a burned kid on my hands.

I have never noticed a problem with any of my pets around burning candles as far as smell goes. We burn candles almost every night, some scented some not. My kids are very healthy according to the vet so I am not sure there is much of a problem there.

Don't use oil warmers! Scary experience with that one!

I like to use oil diffusers (the kind where you just stick reeds in a vial of scented oil), and odor-absorbent gels. The latter come in a little container that sort of looks like a candle and have a soft scent. I do miss the warm glow of a burning candle though. I hadn't heard of scentsy before, maybe I'll give that a try!

I use three Scentsy warmers in each room of my house and it has never affected my gliders at all.

I think the only concern with something like a Scentsy, or an oil burner is that a glider cannot access it. We had a member who's glider got into the oil (think it was an oil one) and that caused an injury to the glider. The scents are ok as far as I know.

"For Every Home", sells warmers, they do not use bulbs or flame, but have a warming plate under the bowl to melt the wax. They sell only soy-based waxes in both their wax cubes (for warmers) & their candles. They also have different sizes in warmers as well as candles and matching sized candles can be placed on the top of the warmer plate instead of bowl of cubes, if so desired. In addition to waxes they also sell scented nectar, its thicker than oil and is extra potent.

I have a few of these warmers, but I don't have any in the room where my gliders live, and when they're out & in a room where I do have them, I don't use them. It's just not necessary to.

I used to be a consultant for this company, they're a great company and offer terrific products, but I stopped selling only because "direct sales" just isn't for me. I still really love their products though, they're a "Green" company and even have other wonderful "Green" products. I still buy from them.

Shelly if you're talking about me with my glider. YES! Do NOT use an oil warmer near your gliders. Meeko glided right into one, when it was ON! So it was nice and hot, and his right arm got burned. He's 100% now. But whew! That one was scary! Threw that thing away right when I got home from the emergency hospital at 3:00 in the morning, after they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for Meeko shakehead I don't recommend using those whatsoever!

I am a scentsy rep too,... I keep all of my warmers out of gliders reach or the ones in the same room, I turn off 45 minutes before the gliders are let out

We have always been huge animals lovers/owners, and also candle burners/scents warming in a pot, and our animals have lived long, healthy lives. These animals include cats, dogs, birds, and now suggies.

However we are careful about where we place things to burn, don't leave candles going unless we're in the same room, and always turn off warmers when we sleep, leave the house, or let the gliders out to play.

Things have always seemed to work out well :thumb2:

I am actually glad that this was posted, I use plugin warmers, and I have always left them out of the gliders room cause of the myth I had heard acouple years back. So with my new myth knowledge, I shall order a plug in for the glider room!

I've never been for candles. If you're burning wax until it becomes a puddle that's not even as large as the former solid structure, doesn't that mean you're inhaling wax smoke?
