I have to deeply apologize to everyone for being away for a few months. I've been so busy with school, work, and getting prepared for my busy I just didn't have much free time. I would love to see this thread going and I will continue to try harder at checking this on a regular basis to answer any questions.

That being said, Connie I don't know if you have solved your problem yet but if you haven't I would suggest not using carrots every other day and wait in either increments of 3-5 days. Also I would suggest you getting a hygrometer if you don't have one already. They are fairly inexpensive and will work wonders on your moisture levels!

Awesome guide posted. I've helped with keeping a dermestid colony for a few years and have been thinking about starting up a mealworm colony. I'm pretty sure mealworm beetles can fly, but due to the abundance of resources, there is no need to leave the area. Thanks for the great info and if I do start, I'll most likely pm you with if I have any questions smile

No problem Brian! And you are certainly correct about the resources but the darkling beetle are a wingless beetle so you have no risk of them flying wink!
