Hi am I right in saying the females come into heat every 29 days, stay in heat for 2 days then the next heat is 29 days after that?
Also when a female has joeys ip will she have her next heat?

[:"green"]The cycle is 29 days, including the actual in heat time. When a female has joeys in pouch, she will not go into heat again until the joeys are oop (although some go into heat a week or two before the joeys come out). The range for going into heat again seems to be about 2 weeks before the oop date to about a month after the oop date. It just depends on the female.

[:"green"]The female really will not act much differently than normal, so by watching her behavior, it will be difficult to tell when she's in heat. However, if she is housed with a male, it becomes very obvious when the female is in heat. He will start to follow her around almost all of the time. He will sniff/lick her cloaca & try to mark it with his chest gland. He will also climb onto her back frequently, holding on to her even while she tries to walk away. I have found it quite humorous to watch the interactions of my breeding pairs while the female is in heat because the female always seems rather blase or even somewhat irritated by all the extra attention; whereas the male just seems to be infatuated with the female.
