Nope- all females have slits to their pouches- that's how they gain access to clean or the babies go in/out. It's just the opening...

Do you suspect she might be pregnant?

Not a silly question by the way

Well, We think that she might be. Her moods are changing, and she is more in her pouch and protective than normal from my understanding we are praying she is, but just wasn't sure about it. This is a female that we are getting along with her mate. We have a female, about 9 mos. and we haven't seen a slit at all on her...

I can't always see the slit on our girls- usually I can but there's times when I can't. I guess it just depends on how they are positioned and maybe their fur is a little fluffier than normal

Are you 100% sure it's a girl?

LOL... I hope so! The breeder we got her from said it's a girl and we don't see any little BOOMERS on her. Oh, my, I just always thought she was a girl cause they said so... Just to be on the safe side, I will go in there and check. Am I just looking for boomers on her if it isn't a HER??? omg.. I am flipping out!

YEPPERS, She is a girl. LOL.. that totally got me 2nd guessing myself. I hate that feeling. SO- there is no way to say for sure if this new female might have joeys IP or not just by the slit?
Thanks,
Brook

As far as I know- nope.

The only way I know is by either feeling lightly for a little bump- only recommended if you are very bonded & it won't stress her out & don't check daily either... or if you see a lump in her pouch.

I have a little lady I suspect is pregnant but there's no way she'd let me touch her belly! So... I'm stuck looking for lumps and bumps!
