how well to gliders respond to new names if they are rehomed?

and how many people have a glider named 'scout'? just curio.

I think gliders respond well to renaming. They are smart - quick learners.

Plus, sometimes I think it's better to rename a rescue, because it sort of helps wipe away their past.

I was always told (in the horse world) that re naming a horse is bad luck.
That's carried over to my gliders, and other pets.

Abigial will always be abigail.
For one, I grew up watching an animated movie about animals, and the main character was a squirrel/ mousey type critter named abigail. And she fits the characters persona to a T.
And for another. I feel like if valkeriemome ever wants to look us or her back up here on GC it'll be easier for her to follow smile

Just my two cents tounge + I am a little kooky anyway tounge!

I think it is more in the tone of ones voice than a glider actually knowing their individual names... but I am human, therefore, I name all my animals.

I agree with the tone of voice. I know when I use a more stern voice with Jitters will will almost instantly jump on me to say sorry. And you just can't help but to say Jane in a sweet voice.......lol
