I ordered a collar through Karen, can not wait to get it.
He is so active, I know it is killing him to have it on. I can not wait for him to be all healed.

Suz, no I know immediate vet care is needed, but it was mentioned that the OTHER side is now discolored too, so should more aggressive care than an antibiotic be taken right now since it seems to be spreading?

Ok all, I think I have a brillant conclusion here, what I thought was the other side turning dark is indeed (by all accoutns that I can tell) the fuzz from his coat and fromt he fleece mating on it. I cled off a bunch today before he got out of his cone. and boy when he got out, he went right back to grooming. I quickly got the cone off and tomorrow I will work on it some more, because I am sure it is preventing it from going fully back inside.
Yeah yeah yeah, it is not "spreading" LOL.

OK all, now I have another problem.
I went to give T his medicine and clean him up a bit more and his collar was smelling so I made him a new one, and he is really made some sores under it. He is really ruff of himself trying ot get out and He has got it pretty sore. SO I thought well maybe leave the new one off a bit but as soon as I put him down he is right back to his pom and peepee. And trying ot bit me now. I put some antibiotic cream on him and put the new one on (and the old one smells bad (I am sure it it mostly the food getting on it). Am I doing ok, I feel like such a bad glider mommy. I feel so bad for him, I am sure his little neck and ears are sore. His new colalr should be here in the next day or so (Karen is in Michigan and me Florida).
BTW his peepee is all the way back in now.
Any advice

This happened with Timmy. If you can get some animax (panalog) cream from your vet, put it on his neck twice a day, it should help. Don't beat yourself up, it is not easy what you are doing. Is he on oral antibiotics?

See if you can get that cream from your vet (it isn't expensive) and it should help. Timmy's neck got pretty sore, too and it did help.

yeah, Lan's neck was really sore when his collar finally came off (after almost a month) - I used some neosporin - without pain reliever - on it for a few days and it cleared up pretty fast.

HI all, TeWa is at the vet's right now and it does not look too good. I will tell you guys all about it later. Please please please say a recovery prayer for him. I would hate to loose him. I can nto beleive how much these babies touch your life. I would have never thought I would feel this way about them.

Well all, my heart is broken. My T dies this mornign at the vets.
Apparently he fought with the collar so much that he actually did internal injuries.
When I got up to feed him this morning, he was limpish, hwas a bit pudgy and when I put a worm in front of him there was no response. I put him on a heating pad, called Suz, and took him straight to the vets. The vet wanted to go ahead and put him down but I asked if we could at least try. So he put him on fluids and antibiotics and in an oxygen tank. But he did not make it.
It makes me so sad. I tried hard with him, and I hear and see other glider owners that could care less about their babies, and they seem to be ok (if you all remmeber T came from a REALLY bad situation).
Well I know I am going to miss him terribly. I have my 2 girls and I think one may be with joey now. I will keep you all updated.

At least little TiWa knew that you were fighting for him until the very end and you never gave up on him. He is now at the Rainbow Bridge with my Reggie, Bobo, Pika, Cricky and the joeys
