Would it be possible for someone to provide a picture of their own, or a link to one of these test tube water contraptions.
My curiosity is peaked...

I use 2 bottles, have tried a bowl, but they didn't touch it. I also have a LIXIT plastic bottle, and we love it! It's so easy to put in/take out, and the floater doesn't fit through the opening on the bottle, so it can't get lost! Easy to clean also, just put a drop of dish soap in with some really hot water and shake! I even put their gliderade in a bottle, they won't drink it out of a dish either.
I did try the test tube water bottle, but it only worked for a couple of drops, then they couldn't get anything out of it. Neither my husband or myself could ever get it to work properly. We threw it away.

i have water bottles... i always test to see if the ball i easy to move before i buy them. I have a feeling that if i attempted the bowl i'd wind up with a bigger food muriel on the back of my wall... hehe. I have a bird who enjoys dipping his food in the water dish before eating it and it just makes the water nasty, i end up having to change it three times a day, once in the morning, once after he bathes himself, and once in the afternoon. i can only imagine what my gliders would do!

Miles you mentioned a food mural on your wall. I drape a sheet over the back of my suggies cage to keep my walls clean.

I change water twice a day, open dishes, and they do just fine. Once in a while someone'll dump something in a dish, but if you put it right under a pouch or something it's rare. I've seen more gliders die from malfunctioning bottles than any other cage item, plus two of mine won't go near one, that I won't use one. That's just me, though. Plus I know without a doubt the dishes are clean. Just thought I'd give the other side of the issue, lol.

I've used those and similar for my SMs...one of the few things that works with an ecollar so the glider can feed themself (And I know, bad grammar, there). That's the only time I use them, tho-and for some reason I had more poops hit that tiny trough than I ever had hit a dish, lol-but like me, my guys are just weird (I think Riker did it on purpose, since he didn't like bottles anyway-but don't tell him I said that)-I was always concerned about being able to get those clean enough inside since I couldn't ever find a brush to fit. I also had a glider hit one (jumped on it or something) hard enough to break the glass at the base once (and used plastic after that)-could be there was a weak spot, but keep an eye on it. That was after bottles, and before settling on dishes.

Thanks glidergrl1513!! I think, once my bundles of joy arrive, I will try them with the kitchens...see if they like it. I mean it SEEMS like a good idea!! Have you ever heard of someone zipping a container (I think it was a Ferrent corner litter box) to a corner section of the posts in the repts to create...a kitchen off the ground? I'd be interested in doing that if I knew they were successful.

I use these http://www.petsmart.com/global/product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441777184&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302047587&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302023691&bmUID=1186062155508&itemNo=8&In=Bird&N=2047587&Ne=2 They are kinda both.. bottle and dish... In my rept, I have a shelf zip tied between two posts, so that is is flat against the wall, and that is where I put there food dishes and water, I use the locking crocks for food...

Any chance you might have a picture or two of your setup? I'd really love to see it!

oh I love that test tube water bottle, i think i have to get some of those for my babies i always worry about their water supply, as does my hubby, so were constantly testing the bottles to make sure they are full and work fine. but they hate using water dishes (they sit in them accidentally, stick a leg in, throw toys or food...) so this is a great alternative!

My two gliders that have the test tube go thru about half of it a day. So they always have fresh water. And another thing is with bottles you have no clue what kind of sediment or build up is in the spout, these just wipe clean.
