AmyMichelle, if you do yours exactly the same as on P`s diet page, does your chicken batch turn out real thick and chunky? My kiddos aren`t going nuts over it the way everyone out there talks about lol!

Also, as I mentioned in my first post, and I`m sure it was forgotten about because I wrote this some time ago lol, all I`m doing right now is a sample test before I buy the vitamins because as you can tell, my kids are the pickiest lol.....that`s why I made up the batches just to see if they`d go for it. If they did go nuts over it, I`d buy the vitamins before I`d switch them over to this diet. I only gave them a sample about the size of a pea or so.

I use a food processer to chop the chicken into fine bits and I use a potato masher to make sure the scrambled eggs are scrambled even more in the mix. I add a few bites of fruit and veggies and a piece of this frozen mix with a pinch of vitamins sprinkled on top and they gobble it up. The chicken looks like they've chewed it and spit it out but I've read that this is normal. The proof is in the pudding - everyone is happy and healthy. I chose this diet because it was easier for me to fix for a batch of gliders and because it keeps my fridge filled with healthy stuff.

I'm going to be starting Priscilla's diet also. From what I understand the vitamins are sweet and have stuff in it that the gliders love. Maybe by sprinking the vitamins on the food, you will encourage them to eat the mixture?

Brenda, that is a very good point, I was wondering if may even help to sprinkle acacia gum and bee pollen over it just for starters to see if it helps. I hear that both of those ingredients are in P`s vitamins.

I've forgotten the vitamins a couple of nights and they still ate every bite - and my guys are real picky too. Are you sure you're making it right?

I do make it just like on P's site. I don't have a food processor.. very little counter space in my tiny apartment, but I dice the chicken into tiny glider hand sized pieces, and I don't have a problem with the mix being too thick.

It IS think though.. when/if you add the chicken and veggies and/or fruit INTO the mix, but I don't have a problem with this, and yes, my kids are very picky, and get bored VERY fast, but The Pet Glider diet is varried enough (with the add-ins) that my gliders don't get bored with it. They eat almost all of it every night, and the vitamins are AWESOME, and my gliders would eat them plain if I let them, lol.

I sprinkle a bit on the mix, and sprinkle a bit on their mealies (with a dab of babyfood stired in to make them just damp and the vitamins stick to it), this way I know they're EATING the vitamins they need, and not leaving too much of them behind on the uneaten bits of food they don't have room for. But I have very few complaints about this diet(other than I have a mess to clean up some days, because a couple of my kids are slobs, lol).

Is it okay to blend the chicken and egg mixtures (seperately of course) in a blender so everything is real fine? I wouldn't put the fruits/veggies in the mixture because I would prefer to feed fresh each night. It's just that I've tried plain chicken and plain eggs and my gliders won't eat either.

I can't imagine why you couldn't blend the chicken and stir it into half of the mix then blend the eggs and stir them into the other half of the mix. Mine too will eat this with or without vitamins. And mine love plain scrambled eggs (on a rare night when I forgot I was out of everything to make a new batch of mix).

yeah its fine... thats what i do. Mine will eat around the chicken and eggs if i don't. I just blend it with the applesauce in the blender until its smooth and then pour it in the bowl and mix like the rest says. once i have it all mixed together, i throw the frozen veggies and fruit in the food chopper and then mix it in. that way they can't pick and choose what they like the best and toss the rest.

How small do you "chop" the veggies??

I'm feeding the BML and my guys are not eating nearly enough each night for me to keep them on it... its really starting to make me worry... So I am going to give this a try.. I just want to be sure that I'm mixing it up right!

I offer an organic mix of frozen veggies that includes carrots, peas, green beans, and corn. I don't chop any of those. When I chop my fruit up, it's the size of the veggies (little hand-held pieces). I've found they eat more if it's chopped smaller.

I have one of those Black and decker food slicer/shredder. I put the shredder blade on and run it through there. I buy the bags of frozen mixed fruits and veggies. they are already chopped up, but that pretty much demolishes them to frozen flakes, lol, there are still some chunks for them to pick out... just not that many

The great thing I like about this diet is that you can feed them what ever they want... meaning amount doesn't really matter. I place a couple of table spoons in a dish each night and sprinkle on the vitamins. What I do is make up the mix, devide it into two equal parts. I put enough veggies and fruit in each batch where they have some thing in every bite. and in one batch i put 3 boiled eggs, the other i place chicken breast (boiled) ... I switch it up, every other night they get one or the other. and some times they enjoy it with a bit of each mixed up. The diet calls for 3/4 cup each in each portion. I know we all do it different. I don't really measure it out, i just make sure there is enough so each bit has some. I also use a blender to chop it up real good so they can't be so picky. But I make sure they also have some nice chunks in there to grab onto.

Hope this helps.
