For those using fresh fruits (non-relish) with the Blended diet I am curious about your rotation (daily/weekly) and what you gliders seem to enjoy the most. I have the calculator but rather than doing a lot of trial and error I thought I would throw this question out there for people that have been doing it a lot longer. wink

I use cantalope, honeydew, papaya, blueberries, watermelon, cherries and mango on a regular basis. I use fresh figs when in season and sometimes grapes, blackberries or apples.

I have an absolutely amazing list of all kinds of fruits and vegetables you can feed suggies. It gives next to each item the Calcium Phosphorous rating, so you don't have to do any figuring on your own. The link for the list is: http://sweet-sugar-gliders.com/calcium_phosphorous_ratios.pdf

Oh, I use the fresh fruits/veggies with a blended diet, also. I have found that alternating fruits one day and veggies the next works best.

I'm originally from Tx and so when we went back to see my family we went and was going to make prickly pear jam we avoided wearing gloves because we could see the big thorns lol however we didn't see the little hair like thorns and we got them all over our hands..needless to say we left them alone lol

Yes, this is very true...they are a type of cactus and are sometimes called cactus pears. Use caution when peeling them because they DO have little pokers in them that can stick in your hands. They're VERY irritating! While my monkeys won't eat regular pears, they LOVE prickly pear...it's not what you would expect. It's very small, has small seeds (I don't remove them) and it's a dark pink color!
