I got my wiffle balls at Dollar Tree. You could probably get them at Target or WalMart also....

You can use wiffle balls or ping pong balls, I got mine from a sport store and have used them for years.

I have been meaning to post pictures and everytime I remember to do it I'm out of the house *smacks forehead*. Yes, you can do it with pony beads. I am uploading the photos now.

Yay!!!! I was thinking that I would use fleece for the string. I know how to make the pony bead key chains, like the animals and stuff. So I think I will do the bridge just like the lacing of the keychains...

I used to make animals out of pony beads all the time when I was little like the above image. I haven't tried making a suggie bridge out of pony beads, but I'm sure it would be just as fun! You would definitely need a lot of beads though . What you will need: -100 tube beads give or take (depends on how long you want to make it). -5 yards of rexlace (I prefer to have too much rexlace than too little). Step 1: Take one end of the rexlace and slide 2 or more tube beads onto it. Hold them in place, do not let them slide down to the center of the rexlace. Step 2: Take the opposite end of the rexlace and slide it through the tube beads. Step 3: Pull on both ends of the rexlace until the beads go to the center of the rexlace. Step 4: Then to add the ends that attach to the cage, I simply took some extra rexlace, slid one end through the last two tube beads (on each end I did this). Then I added tube beads single file on both sides of the rexlace, took a lanyard hook and tied the ends to the lanyard hook. I'm not great with instructions so if you have questions, shoot me a PM.

From like.. 6-10 years old I was OBSESSED with making pony bead animals. Not sure why. But every relative and friend of mine had one of my creations .

Thank you for posting this!! That is exactly where I got the idea to try this too-I just don't get why mine seem to not want to stay together and end up forming a sort of circle-but now that I know forsure I have the right idea I'm going to give her another go-can't wait-thanks again!
uh oh....I just got an idea to try and work this out as a ladder by putting some space in between each row of tube beads...I'm going to try and work that out I think. Yikes. It's embarassing how excited I just got about this.

I found these bike lock cable things in the bicycle section of Meijer for ~$7 each. They didn't seem to have any at the Walmart I went to and I haven't checked Target yet. I *really* like these because they always return to their perfect shape and they have a perfect bounce to them. I tied pieces of fleece to it, to make your cookie-cutter fleece vine, only with a nice shape and awesome bounce. I'm thinking, however, that I'm going to leave these "Naked" and not put fleece on them, I think my gliders will enjoy jumping and bouncing off of them, they have the perfect grip, perfect feel. They even stretch pretty darn far for larger cages. They will be my faux-vines that are super easy to clean! Ah, I just love these! I wish I could find some in pink! Going to google now. Perhaps someone, somewhere, makes them for children's bikes. I bet I can find pink ones somewhere!

Thanks!
I have a question... I went to Home Depot to find that landware net to make tubes and play things but I found a few different things with different names.... I wasn't sure which is the right product. One netting was 1/2" spaces but it was like plastic coated metal and another was 1" spacing and it was plastic thru and thru. Which is right? Does it matter?

You can use either, depending on the toy that you're making. If you want something more sturdy, go with the one that has the wire in it. If you don't need sturdy, the all plastic one is fine also.
Just keep in mind (expecially with the one that has wire) you have to wrap the edges with fleece when you're done to cover the sharp edges that you cut.

I ordered from Rockport Roost a few times in the past and always will in the future-I had a million questions about how much shipping would be in a million different hypothetical situations (I'll admit it, I'm cheap as hell haha!) and she never got irritated with me at all whatsoever and also helped me figure out how much I could get stuffed into 1 little flat rate envelope so I could get the cheapest shipping possible and THEN on top of all that I ordered this violet color she had at the time and she also threw in some of the regular purple (for free) in case I didn't like the violet color (which I didn't) b/c she didn't care for it herself SO basically.... order from there you'll be glad ya did

Hope this is also for sharing. A simple no sew flower I made. It's easy to make. Cut out flower shapes of fleece and snip two small holes into the flower. Use Rexlace string of whatever length you want and slip through the two holes. With ends facing you, tie a knot to secure the string. String some beads on the ends & knot them. Insta-flower
