Well, we've just finished our first three-day cycle and I'm happy to say that my babies have cleaned their bowls to the last drop every night! I took a picture of Libi with chicken in one hand and his face in the nectar bowl. It cracked me up! They were all trying to eat everything at once!

On veggie night we had peas, carrots, jicama, green beans and a bit of frozen corn. Fruits were apples, grapes and watermelon. Protein night we had brown rice, noodles, chicken and egg. I say "we" because I was sneaking bites when the gliders weren't looking!

I'm so glad you posted this diet, Cindy! I've never had them clean their bowls before.

Well I gotta say, my gliders are liking this diet. They just dive in and seem happy as can be.

Funny thing is, now me and my husband are eating healthier because of it too. We are buying more fresh fruits and veggies for ourselves to eat because its just all around easier to feed the gliders that way than buying seperate food for them. It sure did get us away from a lot of processed foods and I am surprised that our food bill hasn't increased much at all.

Can this diet be put in the approved diet section for easier reference?

That's awesome! my kids eat better because of this diet too! lol I don't know what qualifications GC needs to add a diet to the "approved" list. Many people disagree with this diet because there are no supplements so I'm not sure it would make it on the list

For the staple food can you used something like the zoo keeper's secret? My vet wants me to do leadbeaters w/a mazuri diet and he is not eating all of his food he eats some but I might also be giving him to much as well. but I like the sound of this diet and it is so simple! I have been giving him extra vegi's & fruit w/a a little extra protien from mealies, chicken, & fruit kind of alternating between the proteins and vegi's and fruit & the lb mixture too. i don't know it is so hard to pick a diet and know if it is working.

I know what you mean, diets get confusing to me when I'm reading thru them. I have always used Brisky's, but I use it because at the time that's what was out there and it was based on the 25% of each and I thought it complemented the diet well.

I know there are people using this now with the ZKS and their gliders eat just fine. The diet is complete the way it is, I use the staple for any mid-day munchies or if they just choose to eat because they want too.

I felt compelled to share the diet after many, many years of having healthy happy gliders.

sounds pretty good to me:) I had origionally planned on doing the suncoast diet but then I went to the vet and the rest is history:) I like this diet though it's easy and well just easy:)lol

I like this diet, and it is kind of like what mine has put himself on. Started with bml, fruits/veggies, but he's gotten to where he won't eat the bml. Now, I offer fruits with some strawberry applesauce mixed in, and fresh/frozen veggies. I also keep a staple from Gliders R Us called Glider Buffet as a free will choice. He loves this diet. The only modification I need to make is to add the protein day, and move fruit to a day on its own. Love this diet option, it's so easy because I travel a lot and take him with me wherever I go!@
