I live in Papillion, I guess you could call it a suburb (is that spelled right) of Omaha. Most people think they are one and the same. Gliders are illegal in Omaha. At least that's what I thought anyway. Well, wanttaglider, I guess it's just you and me way out here in the middle of nowhere.

I have been thru your fair little city on the way to Bellvue. My mother in law lives in Bellevue.
I know too that Pallion LaVista has one of the best H.S marching bands in Nebraska. LOL

I used to be in that band! I was the captain of the color guard or flag corps, what ever it's called now... They recently got a new school Papillion LaVista South High. Both the bands are pretty good. I love to watch the competitions. It's so neat to see what all the schools are doing now, even thought I don't march anymore. I should do it for UNO, but I can't wake myself up that early anymore! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

actually I have met about 7 Glider owners in Lincoln, 1 in bellevue, and about 6 in Omaha, so i was actually thinking of having a Nebraska get together. I dunno. GliderGirl23, it's finally in the mail. It came out much cuter than even I expected. You'll have to take a picture of your little guy in it. Hope you like the colors I picked, Chey helped me with what color to use. I am so excited to hear what you think about it.

Yeah, sadly that was all I could come up with. Oh wait, I got it. Do you think that the Bellevue Pet Center should be able to carry gliders in their store? I have heard of three so far one male, one female (I saw her), and one currently that is alledged to be a male. He didn't have his bald spot, but he could have been neutered. He is 7 months old and apparently very sweet. The sad thing in that they put him in a really small cage and as if that wasn't bad enough, it's right in the window so when the sun is setting it's shing right at him. He did have a recognizable pouch - I think it came from Glider Daydreams... If I remember corretly. It touched the bottom of the cage as did the wodent wheel that was crammed in there. He was served some fruits at least. Anyway, what do you guys think?

I am shocked and amazed to see that the Nebraska post is showing on the first page! Usually to find it I have to use the search function! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> Anyway, you may or may not have seen my name earlier, but I'm from Nebraska (Papillion - just outside of Omaha) I know that there are a lot more glider owners in Nebraska, but they don't post on the board... I guess that we'll just have to spread the message. I know my sister check out information here but is not a member. She lives in Wayne (up by Norfolk... aka out in the boonies!) Plus, I have inspired two people in my city to buy gliders... I told them how great it is on the board, but I guess that they fell fully informed... (I know I don't and I've been here for years!) Anyway, it's nice to know that there are other out there.

P.S. Who s looking forward to the 60 degree weather on Saturday (ME!!)

Hello all, I am not new to glider central or to owning gliders. I am in Iowa at the moment but looking to move to Omaha fairly soon. I have 8 gliders, a water dragon, a cat, mice, a hairless rat and fish. When I get out there I would like to get to know some of the other glider lovers.

I live in Papillion. I am a soon to be glider owner.

I was just out in Omaha for the weekend and I have to admit, I Have gottten used to the smaller towns. It was deffinately different from what I had gotten used to. I do remember passing Papillion a few times while I was out there. When you get your glider(s) pipes, you will wonder how you ever went without one.

I have had my gliders since the fifth of may and I am loving them. They are starting to bond with all of us, especially mine who has come to the door once or twice when I called her. The boy still is crabby to everyone but my girls I got 2 instead of 1 are warming up great

Wow! Not alot of Nebraskan's and no one from western Nebraska which is where I'm from. I live about 23 miles from Scottsbluff. I'm a new owner of two baby girls. I received my first one at the beginning of this month for my birthday and my hubby is actually on his way home now with our new little addition which is my "very early Christmas present." I can't wait to see her and see them together! Their names are Gidget and Gypsy Girl. I have already contracted glideritis in the short time I have been an owner, well owned! It would be nice to have a get together but there aren't alot of Nebraska members and I'm way out in the boondocks anyways so probably too far for me to drive. Funny thing I didn't realize that there was a second page to this and was flipping that I couldn't find NE. I thought maybe I had misread that gliders were legal here! Phew!!

We are getting our first gliders today (10/30/06). A neutered male 4yo and a female 2yo. We live in Waverly. We bought them from a student graduating from UNL in Dec '06. She is unsure where life will be taking her. But her babies will be safe, sound and loved by all!

I don't have any gliders YET... but have been introduced to them through some friends over the past couple months, after they had 2 joeys, i couldnt resist so now im building my own cage and doind lots of research... but soon enough i will have my own glider friends, and cant wait... Going to name one herbie for sure!!

I am from Omaha and I saw that one person mentioned that they are illegal in Omaha, is that true? Is that just within city limits? What about Belluvue, Millard and Papillion? I want to get one in a couple years but before I get my heart set on it I want to make sure it is legal.

they are illegal as far as I know just in omaha. I'm not sure about millard though they are anex aren't they?

Hello there! I just moved to Papillion, NE. Recently and also very recently became a new sugar glider mom. I have two gliders currently. I have a male cremino named Gizmo and a family classic named Gidget. I also just bought a female mosaic that will be old enough to come home to me in a couple of weeks. I think I am going to name her either Penelope or Luna.
