Choosing Vegetables

For those of you who are searching for a variety of vegetables here is some information you should consider. Keep in mind the dangers of oxalic acid & oxalates are when items high in oxalates are fed continually over a long period of time. Or if multiple items are fed at the same time. It is similar to the post Jimbo made about iron and vit c. Be selective about which veges. you choose to feed.

Thanks for that Charlie - Wow, it seems like my veggie list keeps dwindling down! I just added parsley to my newest veggie bag - looks like it'll be coming out in the next one! I keep ending up at the same old standbys! Ugh

That seems like almost everything I thought was good for humans and gliders (accept some fruits)! What are the best veggies nutrition wise? Peas and Iceberg Lettuce don't seem to have that much nutritional value but they aren't on that list. Broccoli and carrots seem good but are not always my gliders fav's.

Foods high in oxalates are not no no foods. Only foods that should be fed in moderation. I referred to Jimbo's post about foods that are high in vit c and iron. It does not mean that these items cannot be used in your gliders diet but should be taken into consideration when planning on which vegs or fruit to include. My intention is not to alarm anyone but to help you in balancing your gliders diet.
There are so many combinations of foods that it is no wonder that even the professional nutritionists cannot agree on diet issues. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
