[:"green"]Teresa, I'm so glad to hear that Sebastian is improving! What a relief for you... He is going to be ultra- bonded to you by the time all of this is over. Lucky, lucky you!!! My Pika is ultra- bonded now, too. We're still dealing with her eye & tail - hoping we won't have to amputate... Anyway, You're terrific!!!

Teresa...you may just have another Riker on your hands, lol! Keep a VERY close eye on him out of the collar tho..he may, or may not, make the noise to warn you something is up, as you know..and if he doesn't he could cause a LOT of damage before you realize. If you need me to mail you some vetwrap (the gauze that sticks to itself-I have some and can have it out tomorrow overnight) let me know-it might be harder for him to get off-and will help protect it while it heals. Keep updating....and spoiling the little guy rotten, too.

Jen, thanks. I have the vet wrap tape. What seems to be working the best for staying on is the fabric bandaids. They stretch and the finger tip style wraps the end of his tail nicely. Tonight, Sebastian, Joe and I are going to a fancy resturant for Joe's company Christmas Party. I only hope that Sebastian is a good boy and stays in my shirt. I just can't leave him home and I really want to go. Joe already knows that we may have to leave early. But based on last night, I don't think Sebastian will be any problem. He is such a big boy, I really hope I don't look like I have a third bump in my shirt!

It has been about 32 hours now since Sebastian has had any pain meds. He has not been in a collar and is NOT messing with his tail! It has a bandaid (the fabric kind) on the end of his tail and I did have to replace it at 6 am yesterday because he had groomed the bandaid until it was really wet. But there was absolutely no signs of any chewing on the bandaid at all. I am really hoping the worst is behind us. I am still watching him like a hawk and well, he is now so spoiled that all he wants is to be down my shirt. I put him in his cage tonight for him to eat his dinner and he sits and just stares at me like I put him in jail or something. I am so happy right now!

Charlie, don't know about the glider therapy but I know many of my friends think I need therapy for going through all this for "just an animal". I'm so glad I have my GC friends and family to understand. Actually, he just might at that. He has his whole schedule mixed up and will need to learn what nocturnal means all over again. He is eating right now at almost 10:30 am even though he was given his dinner last night.
You all have really been such a great help to me. Without everyone's support and prayers and all. I really would not have made it this far.

The trials you have been through with a couple of those gliders just makes one wonder, could there ever be a bond between glider and slave that could be stronger. To be there for a glider (or any animal for that matter) while they are sick and hurting and tending to their every need and whimper, to me, is nothing less than doing the same for a human child. We all know that the human child feels loved and cared for because they are able to tell us, so I can only imagine the love, trust and devotion that you will now be getting from both him and Reep. I know you have a close bond with all of them, but talking with you while you have been going through this with these two, I know how much you have really grown to love and bond with them. I applaud you Teresa (and all the others that have been through similar things) for the time, effort, love, care and patience not to mention the sleepless nights, that you have given to these gliders in their most time of need. The unselfishness you have displayed is definitely one that should be recognized and a very good example to the rest of us should we ever (God forbid) be in your situation. I also applaud Joe for not only being there with you but also being that FOR you while you were going through this. Now go give that boy some more glider kisses (and/or cheese) from his Auntie Peggy and tell him I said to keep getting better!!

That little guy is yours forever, Teresa!! And that look is.."I've been with you all the time, and you stuck me in here. What did I do wrong, you don't want me with you? I don't understand." How do you think Riker got like he is, lol. I'm so happy to hear he's not messing with it, and praying it continues! BTW..a bond like that, once developed, is nearly impossible to break. Riker gets extremely depressed when I'm not around enough..he takes it personally, and can't figure what he did wrong that I'm not there. If I knew how to moderate that, I'd tell you, but I don't. WTG, Sebastian!!
