First thing is to make sure there are no other animals in the room. Is this hopefully the glider safe room? Turn the lights down low so she won't be so eager to run into the darkness and try to entice her with her fave treat. Alos lay out one or two pouches so she can run into them when she comes out. Make sure that the toliet seat is down and there is nothng that she can get into that wil harm her...cleaners, a bucket, etc. Above all else, make sure you do not remove ANYTHING until she's found. Gliders have been found in the garbage, the dryer, laundry, etc. Anywhere it's dark and "safe".

Good luck and please keep us posted.

Check VERY carefully. Is she a crabber if she's disturbed? Feel for heat and movement as well as looking and listening. They can be very sneaky when they don't want to be caught.

You might also check the christmas tree, back in the branches would be a wonderful hiding place for a glider looking to take a nap! All the other suggestions are great, you might turn lights on in the rooms you have already checked, make sure there is NO way out of the house, open windows, holes, etc. leave no stone unturned!
good luck and let us know!

Do you have any blankets or throws on the couch? Precious loves to climb under the one I have one the back of my couch. She also loves climbing & playing in my littles girl stuffed toys.

Heather.. do not panic if you still have not found Trixi. I have had my glider lost for a couple days when I first got her. What finally got her out was I turned out all the lights, hung up a pouch and sat still. After a bit I heard her. She was actually inside the stuffing in the couch! In a bit she came out to check out the pouch and I was able to catch her. They can travel really quickly! But you should be able to hear some of her noises when its night. I did make sure I left out some water on the table where I last saw her so she might come out and drink. Also block up vents if you have them as they can crawl inside there too.

Good luck and please post when you find her, I sure know how you feel!!

Please let us know if you found Trixi. I have been worried about her. Something similar happened to me before. My rottweiler actually helped find my two gliders.

Dorothy , Bandit , and Gypsy

Try turning on all the lights in the rest of the house except that room...kind of encourage her to stay there. Are there any packaging sounds...like crinkling and papers to her favorite snacks you could make? Just ideas...we are still waiting to get our first gliders. Carrie

Hello! I have had this exact problem!!! More than once. I turned off all NOISE makers...tv, radio, computer, fan, etc. I laid out pouches and food in the last place that I had seen him. I left the cage door open, and placed his mate in the hallway in clear view to any room. Finally I decided to give up and give it some time (after3 hours of searching). My boyfriend and I were sitting in the room waiting and waiting and finally he jumped on my boyfriend's shoulder and ate a piece of fruit. It was quite funny. We put him back in the cage and the little bugger escaped again. We just waited on him to come out of hiding. I have also found one in one of my old prom dresses. I have found them in the dirty clothes hamper, and a piece of advice, keep your clothes closet SHUT!! OMG, one got in there and I tried to catch her...almost all day. Finally, it was about 3am. and I decided to put a pouch and food in the closet and shut the door. I got up and went to school...when I was in school, and when I came home I found her in the pouch.

I wish you sooo much luck on finding that baby.

GOOD LUCK

Any luck yet? We've lost gliders for hours before. They usually come bouncing out when they're ready. I wouldn't be too worried as long as there aren't other animals around. I don't know what I'd do if there are other animals...We don't have that problem. I've learned that they can appear to be very awake and active, and disappear in a flash to go to sleep--they don't get drowsy. They just go right to sleep.

Glider Greetings

To all who are concerned about Manhattan's glider....if I remember correctly, she is a college student. I'll bet that she is away on winter break and we won't hear from her until she gets back to school.

I just recently got my glider. I've noticed a lot of people posting that they can't find their gliders. Is this a problem that cna be helped by strong bonding. Do they runaway when they are not bonded to you or is it at anytime?bonded or not. I hope that my glider doesnt do a vanishing trick on me. I think i'd cry myself to death if i lost my baby.
