I don't know for sure, but I took it off the one toy I made because the girls started picking at it and nibbling on it. If nothing else, I wouldn't want your suggies to choke on pieces they bit off!

I use hot glue when making glider toys BUT I use the glue in such a way as it is inaccessable to the glider, such as inside a pony bead (to attach feathers). Pay close attention to where you are putting the glue and clean off any that the glider might be able to get to.
