Do you think they remember their siblings? Two of my gliders are brother and sister, I got them when they were about 6(?) months oop. They have been separated for quite some time and have mates---I've noticed this before but did not really pay that much attention to it--last night I had Jessie out (after her brother,Chester, had been with me all day) and she seemed to recognize his scent and was rubbing her chest and head all over my shirt where he had been. This is a behavior that they both display. So does any one think they would still recognize the others scent or was Jessie just simply trying to mark over where she smelled another glider?

I personally think they remember. We take Chip (18 mos oop) to the breeder's to play with his mom & dad. Chip always "baby" calls to his mom Kyra, and Kyra always acts as if she recognizes him and wants to spend time with him. She will climb all over Zack and I and even visits his bonding pouch. Dakota, his dad, will sniff hello, but then goes about the business of playing.

I honestly believe that they remember, but I think it depends on the glider as to whether they will be friendly with family after a long period of time. Kira (Chip's mommy of ZacksMom) loves to see her kids, and all 3 of her kids love to see her . Kira's first pair of joeys live at separate homes--Pascal with me, his sister Amber with a friend of mine, and even 2+ years later, they cuddle up to each other when they get together--even though they both have mates now.
But, Pascal just saw his daughter the other day, and did not react well to her, and it hasn't been very long since she left. So, I think it just depends.

I am sure they remember, I know that a friend of mine had a glider six years ago then gave him to a friend. A few years after that my friend went to vist his old glider, and after one sniff enotch was all crawling all over my friend. I know it's a little off of your question with siblings, but almost the same situation.

It is the exact same situation, yes. I am so glad to see that others have noticed and/or experienced the same thing.
My first glider I adopted to a good friend, after the sudden and tragic death of her husband, still comes to me when they come to visit.

Thanks Guys,
Have a Glideriffic Day!
