Sorry work been crazy between everything. We all still around. spent more time working and trying to keep up than enjoying selves. I still spoiling and caring for the kids. trying to keep up with all the demands on us and the joys of health issues lol,I managed not to increase the number of masters for a long term lol. We watch a friend glider for a few months and she happy to have them back. Then we had a friend visit with her 7 gliders for a weekend since the annual MEG was cancel due to the (reptile show center still being used as a makeshift hospital for covid,) We went to a different show and purchased supplies lol. Now we got the fun part of the year to try and do all the normal weekly stuff and start prepping for spring and summer.( plus start to stock up for the supplies needed for the SGGA this year so Suburban sugar can do vending. ( working on camera set up encase we want to do the video spacing like last year. )

Don't feel bad we so crazy it taken me 2 months not to update lol we actually up to 11 gliders. One of wife friends was reducing her glider numbers due to possible moving and asked if we take one more of her( Bowie and Beemers came from her ) and Now we have Misha as well. First few weeks he slimmed down but now he picking his weight back up.. On top of it we starting to watch Freya and Leeloo as both girls are fine as far as we can tell but their weight is going up and down about the same time ( both glider are smaller and lighter maxed out I think maybe 95 grams each at one point.. ( when I gave like daily treats 3 times a a day and still eating,. Both being in the 7+ year range we watching and considering a wellness check on them both could be a possible dental issue brewing.. I think that it mostly the cage change and not having total covering on the sides now so they can smell and see Momo and the others and wanting to guard their cage.. I need to find a day to make a new cover for the side.

Well as of tonight, I don't have any empty cages.

we dont either we replaced the old ( about 5 years old ) prevue hendryx cages we loved with some double critter nations. one that were taller ( since we had spare double to turn them into triple tall on one ) and the remaining parts need some tlc to clear off rust this summer if I can get the time) or set up as a ER cage if we need it)..

so in the 2 months since we have posted it been a crazy time. Freya had to have a tooth removed ( we have been bad slaves). had it removed 2 weeks ago but she barely putting weight back on and she really refused to take meds. ( little [censored] let you squirt it in her mouth then just shake her head getting it on everything.) I done the whip cream, treats and her fave fish snacks but she just don't want it . she gotten so light and frail feeling i afraid to restrain her to give med as i feel i could break bones.. today I am going to try and make a special crack for her to try.

I been stuck to the health check in table for a while now( about 1 year or so) ( basically ask the questions enter the yes or no answers and check temp) then send on to work( which will be ending soon I got a feeling when I go to work on Wednesday it be gone) I was doing this cause it boring and a lot of people don't like doing it. once seen it didn't bother me they basically left me it . .. Sadly that has created my other issue ( sitting at the table for 7 hours shift and not doing much ) allowed my legs and back to stiffen up even more than normal.( and yesterday tossed on a register for 2+hours I could not move well or walk afterwards. So I may now be in jeopardy of loosing my job. ( went to lunch and hurt so much I was in tears and could not walk hardly ( I dragged my feet they never left floor) and after lunch tried to cover 2 different 15 minutes breaks it was a nightmare. end up spending last hour of my shift in HR doing the e training then get help out of the chair to leave. ) I got to work on getting around better since i don't have meds for pain ,( II tried everything legal and then some wit no real luck.. otc stuff I taking 5 or more at a time to get any minor relief that it not worth it . doc want to try pt therapy but I lack the time in the day to do it. ( I am up and gone by 6a and home by 8p so it feed glider find dinner then bed repeat and on days off ( today ) I got yard, house, and animal chores I not been able to sneak in to do at night. let alone relax any. ( i actually doing laundry as i type )

Sadly it seems that Freya didn't heal up front dental issue or had some other health issues, I held her [censored] she passed away in my hands last night about 1130 pm.. Sh actually was down to 60 grams. I know she been eating ( I have put her next to the bowl every night and giving her kisses) watching her eat for a bit before i went to bed. I afraid she must of had another issue we missed. I founder her lethargic in the pouch at 9pm when I brought food in and I think she was only barely aware then. I spent the rest of my evening in a chair loving her and crying until I felt her heart stop. I have been either crying or wanting to punch something ever since ( not be a safe day for me to go to work ) so I imagine that I get let go when I go in tuesday for points. it has not been a good week for me . between back pain and forced to leave early and today missing out ( cause I know I end up attempting to deck anyone that gave me a issue ) safest place is home doing something I think.

I been thinking that it possible Freya and her chewing holes in stuff may of had a small blockage that a was missed during the vet exam as she put a hole in the colony pouch in 3 weeks.

I'm so sorry to hear about Freda .

They are really good about hiding sickness. I'm not sure what else she could have had going on, but I feel your pain. It's so hard to let them go.



Time doesn't heal the pain of the loss, but it will help you cope with it better.

It's been over a year since we lost our first glider Fiona, and I still kick myself ( at least it's not hourly or daily anymore) for not catching it sooner. But then again, it may have been time for her to go...

Glide Free Little Freya

i know it not been long after Freya passing, but the only slight up side has been Kahless ( one of Tucker's grand(forget how many grand it is ) children from Feather ) has let me pet him twice yesterday without crabbing and or lunging at me even for being 4 years old..
I think i only broke down 4 times while home alone yesterday.

I been lurking a lot lately but I figure I post a update. Everyone else is fine when we do daily checks and I been home more than I wanted lol..

I can't win.. We been smelling a fishy smell on and off a couple weeks ( figured at first a fish snack wet some were but kept coming back. I was talking to Denise
a couple days ago ( in messenger and it was cause a reply she made to something and as we chatted she reminded me that it could be a glider with a abscess.. Well we pried poor Leeloo mouth open and she got a small rotten abscess right at the bottom of her lower 2 teeth. so now making another call to the vet and see if i can get a removal asap. Thankfully we have care credit (I been forced on a leave of absence from work ) so last 3 weeks no income. I am working on getting back to work asap, spent half my day today kn phone with the proper people about it and found out the doc has not sent the updated restrictions to them ( 2 weeks ago)

2 updates .

1st one is we sadly lost Momo yesterday afternoon late. not sure if she died then fell to cage bottom or crawled to the spot and rolled up in a ball and died on us. She was perfectly fine in the morning taking a treat and ready to go out if we let her. but sadly we both were going to work. (crystal/ringtail/SuburbanSugar ) is very up set as well as I am.. Momo was the log main baker and boss at the bakery. Her sister is perfectly healthy and so far not too upset, they have been cage-mates all their lives together. Momo was only a just past 2 weeks of being 8 years old.

2 Leeloo had her dental this morning( with Momo passing I even more concerned about), she end up with 2 teeth removed but came through good other wise as she even tried to nip me when I reached in to pet her. she on meds for about 21 days anti and pain for 6.. At 11 years old I was really worrying, I would admit I don't think i could handle losing both of my remaining original girls. to make things even more upsetting we are finally having the celebration of life for my aunt that pasted away over holidays and covid related issues.

I've learned the hard way how difficult it is when you loose you're first one. It's been almost 2 years, and it still hurts.

Leeloo doing good guys, Crystal still having hard time with Momo passing, as long as I don't play the videos she post I can keep from breaking down..
But still so sudden and upsetting she was only 8 and perfectly fine that morning. I have a feeling if i had come home before I went to get Crystal from work ( then to her sister's) to drop off stuff she may still be with us as I would have taken her with me to when i left that afternoon late.

SO a non glider update to our crazy house. I spent about ( now just over a week) with 2 welt on my left forearm and armpit bothering suddenly appearing and trying not to bump) well Wednesday I bust the one on my forearm open. proceed to make doc appointment to get seen lot of blood and puss and minor funk smell) get seen Friday told that if i don't see improvement, fever break , and such withing 24/36 hours to visit the ER. well Saturday night my temp hits 102.8 and i can barely move arm without discomfort. I like all hard-heads push though Sunday since I was schedule to work. ( i had everyone that knows me and what going on for last month and a half look at me like i am nuts for trying to push myself. Anyhow I go to the ER after I pick up my wife from work,drop her off and pack the figuring over night bag needs. well they check-in nurse looks at me during check in and goes yeah you just got a overnight stay. Fun part is they took me right in the back did assessment and temp and all the fun stuff.. put in waiting room for an hour then took in back and start treatment ( pain lessons lol) they end up lancing and draining both abscess and packing the pit one with materiel to allow draining and prevent closing). I am told I cant work for 3 days(max they can give you) and need to see my doctor withing 48 hours,. so i try contacting work and they wont answer. so end up forcing myself to drive into work to let them know what going on.
basically told that Walmart don't accept work excuses and i have to use pto or take points for days I miss. I do believe if work I would cause at least a couple health code violations due to being cashier and fact I be busting the forearm against the bag piece all 5 hours I am restricted to) not not mention possible OHSA and food handling laws. even covered up I am still actively draining puss and blood and change the bandages at least 3 times ad day right now. since as a cashier I be touching food and other such items.

Well, walmart has changed their rules... I would read up on that. PTO does have an advantage that you get paid. So they don't have accumulated sick leave anymore?

Feather seen doc at 2pm. They sent me back to ER So as right now i am in very costly hotel getting a iv line put in ( right before i responded). No clue yet. They thinking multiple. Infections or (mars? ) .. either way it going to be a long night of me limping to bathroom to pee With equipment hooked up

sorry guys been trying to get back to normal around here. They sent me top a specialist cause i still have some fluid near armpit . This doc said basically put a heating pad on it for a couple hours a day ( about 3-4 time for a hour each) and it should go away in a few weeks. ( i have yet to get a heating pad lol) . I am still trying to get use to the less working hours and trying to pay bills on 1/2 of what I was bringing home. (plenty of time to do house work quietly as Crystal now works from home for same pay but less stress lol so she doing great. but otherwise I still don't get much done most days it about all I can do after sweating for 5 hours outside at Walmart to do dishes and maybe fix dinner for use ( if i know the recipe lol) I still tinkering with computers and now 3d printers( up to 2 of them)

You need a computer job you can do from home.

better yet a computer/ 3d printer based job as a tech lol.. I still learning the 3d printer part but I am enjoying the headaches from it lol.

There was a post somewhere else about 3-D printers and whether the fumes were toxic ( or not ) to gliders.

What are your thoughts? I've never had one so I have no clue...

This is semi true depending the filament you use. Pla is non toxic. But abs and asa and liquid resin all have toxic fumes. And recommend a filter/ outside venting. We only do pla and one called petg (pet friendly they claim) for our prints. But i do have a air purifier in room and long prints i crack window open to allow fresh air and to vent some heat out.

Thank you! When you see advertisements, or watch videos on 3-D printers, there isn't "Smell-a-vision" (Futurama) attached. But I suppose if it's melting plastic, it would have a smell or fumes wouldn't it?

well folks a update it been crazy with door hosting at work, and wife new job plus the holidays. but Leeloo will be joining the toothless groups after tomorrow. last week we though we saw some swelling in her face, so took to the vet and yup the few teeth she has left will be coming out about lunchtime tomorrow. she only lost like 9 grams since the spring and between her age and the lack of teeth will be totally a baby food glider from now on. I may have to figure out how to make yogi crumb for her to num on .

After her mouth heals up she should be able to eat normal foods, not kibble, but my toothless glider even gained weight after her teeth were removed.

Glad to hear Feather they took 11 of her 12 remaining teeth so only 1 long one in front bottom left. She off medications now and I need to weight her again bu the littler turd won't sit still long enough to get a weight lol.. She feels so frail in my grip I am afraid I will break bones while i was giving her medication.

Leeloo still with us and doing ok . Her and 5 others of us are no longer in Delaware and no longer having ties to suburban sugar bakery( we will still support and help her if asked but no longer part of that family. )
