If you have been reading some of my earlier posts you will already be familiar with our little girls, who are sisters, about 3 1/2 months OOP now. bonding has been going well, they have always been pretty sweet girls. We do tent time and bonding pouch when we can on the weekends. Our concern is that we have to wake them up to do tent time. The awesome breeder we got them from says that's ok. I also see people on here who do that and say their gliders don't mind. Sometimes though, it seems that they do mind. We just want to be sure that we are not impeding their mental or physical growth by interrupting their sleep every day. Thanks for reading....

It is ok to wake them a before their normal time to get up, so that you can do tent time.

If it is dark out they are probably good. This is more a problem in winter months when nights are longer so they sleep through more of the night. In summer my gliders are always up 30 minutes after sunset. None of my four have even gotten up yet. Lazy.

It seemed they used to be ok with us waking them up for tent time. Lately though, they seem to be more bothered, so I feel bad. We still want to bond so we will keep doing it each night. Sometimes we cut it a little short time-wise and sometimes we linger longer. Going to try to do it a little later on the weekends, closer to their wake up time. Maybe that will help. . .

I only have one who doesn't like to be woke up.... She's always been that way... She only tolerates being woke up for nail clipping. And there better be an unlimited supply of mealworms, or she bites... We are as bonded as she wants to be, which means she prefers her cage over anything. Even when I turn her loose. If I have mealies, she will go anywhere and tolerates anything for a short time. She's 5 years old and we've had her since she was 12wks oop... Her name is Dot, and she would rather be a companion to other gliders, and her humans can drop dead - unless there are mealworms involved... Lol!
