So my mother and I recently adopted a pair of sugar gliders and I've been looking to improve their quality of life. I love the cute little things and it's important to me that they have the best possible life. I'm looking for "tips" so to speak or a basic bonding routine as well as some information on diet. We've been feeding them 15 pellets from PetPockets in the morning and 15 in the evening along with a Instant-HPW High Protein Sugar Glider Food pre-mixed and frozen and a slice of apple. We received the sugar gliders from my mother's friend because they were traveling a lot and they didn't have time to properly socialize them. I'm worried because we've been unsure what to do for a long while with these two and we were following her instructions on feeding and other care and I'm not sure if that is what's best for them. Additionally, feeding them in the mornings is difficult so I'm sure that I'm feeding them to late (around 10am). I want to bond with them and be able to take them places around the house. Any help at all with my cuties would be absolutely lovely. ETA: Moved thread from Help, I'm New. This portion of the thread to discuss Diet for new member. Post will be copy/pasted to Bonding & Relations for bonding questions- KarenE

I would stay away from Exotic Nutrition. Their Instant HPW has been tested and what is in the bag is not correctly reflected on the labeling. There have been gliders that died after feeding it. One lady lost 4 in one night. She found bugs and other garbage in the newly opened bag of the Instant HPW. The Stuff they have in the jar is just plain scary and it smells awefull.
There are a lot of good diets out there, the ones that have been tested by a world renowned animal nutiritionist are Critterlove diets, BML and Pocket Pets diet with the Glider Gravy. Critterlove continues to be tested.
