It's hard to say without a picture.
If it's sewn together, watch to make sure the stitches are firm and can't be seen. And all loose threads are trimmed.
If it's glued, not a good idea.
If there is any embroidery on it, nails can catch.
It should be made of blizzard, polar, or antipill fleece. Basically you shouldn't be able to see any woven material.
Fur or minky fleece can catch nails too.
