This portion of the Alicia's original post will deal with the Diet & Nutrition issues. We bought a glider from the exotic pets traveling group. went to show my kids all the different animals and ended up with a glider for my teenagers birthday. They gave us a cage, toys, carrying sack, and a bag of food with a list of approved vegetables and fruits. The food is called glider crunch. I keep seeing posts about approved diets and wondering if this is 1 of them or not. Also the vitamins they need. They said nothing about vitamins. Another thing. They said to hold him often to so you can form a bond. Every time we get near him he makes this noise. Any information is appreciated.

Alicia, All the questions you've asked are general and have very broad answers. On the forum page, you'll see several groups of topics such as ' diet & nutrition,' or bonding, etc. Each of them has pinned posts at the top with very helpful information and the rest of the posts will address many of the questions you may have. Even reading through this sub-forum ("Help, I'm new"), you'll find many answers to these questions. One thing I did note in your post is that it sounds like you have only one glider. These are very social, nocturnal animals. I would encourage you to consider getting a second to keep your new furball happy. You'll see much more addressing this in many other postings on this website. If you have more specific questions or concerns that we (collectively) may be able to address, then by all means, ask away. We are here to help! Welcome to the madness that is owning a Sugar Glider and to Glider Central.

Hi, Welcome to GliderCENTRAL. Do you know if this was Pocket Pets or someone that looks like them? Pocket Pets has food that is called Glider Grub and Glider Gravy. This diet has been studied and it is a good diet fed with the Glider Grub, Glider Gravy, Glide a mins and apple. If you listen to the CD that they include in the package deal you will see that they want to you slowly add fruits and vegetables to your new gliders diet. In my opinion Glider Grub is Pet Pro Products Happy Glider Kibble and I know for fact that Glider Gravy is actually Critterlove Complete. You can learn more about Critterlove products and diet plan Here! Hutch is right, you should have two gliders. They will learn from each other and that helps with bonding. Here is an article for you to read on bonding: Building a relationship with your glider. I will be moving this post to bonding & Relations as that is the way this post is moving. If you have any other questions please put them into the forum they relate to.
