This morning my daughter found our sugar glider in the toilet. She is alive. We immediately got the blow dryer and got her dried off and warm but she is acting funny. Her urine is much darker than I’ve ever noticed before. Any advice? Please help! Is there something else I should be doing besides keeping her warm?

A an emergency vet would be recommended.

She could have asperated water.

Keep her warm and comfy. Try to get her to drink if she can. Or some juicy fruits or vegetables. She has been stressed and likely in shock too.

Please keep us posted, but she needs to see a vet.

Her urine could be darker because she got dehydrated in the toilet or she could have a urinary tract infection.

A vet visit is in order, specially to make sure she didn't aspirate any fluids into her lungs.

Once you are given the go ahead, you may want to give her a warm bath to get either the bacteria or the chemicals off of her. Toilets have either or. Use Original Dawn dish soap, rinse well and keep her warm until she is dry, put her in a bonding pouch under your shirt.

You may want to train your family to keep the lid down on the toilets and keep all liquids capped, even gallon jugs if they can get into a gallon jug, so keep them capped.

Please keep us updated on your little one.
