Hello all

I've been a lurker(and new to gliders) on this forum for a while now and got a lot of great information about sugar gliders on here.

I have decided to buy all the materials I need to before I get the actual pets. After looking at some bedding/cage sets something has caught my eye but I want to get the okay from you guys before buying it.

This set is made from velvet, not fleece that is always suggested, it makes me a bit hesitant to buy it. It says the edge is covered with fleece and the seams are Unexposed (maybe safe). I don't know, here are the links and photos. Please view these pages for yourself and help me.
(Please excuse any mistakes I'm new to forums like these)

Hi and Welcome to GC!!!

:welcome2:

I will say these cage sets are really cute!!!

However I'm concerned about the velvet. It doesn't look like velvet, but more like a minky. Either way, be careful. Nails get caught in minky and velvet would wear out quickly and have loose threads which nails and toes can get caught in. I'm also concerned about the cord on the swing. It will fray easily and catch their nails.

toys and swings should be made with a good quality fleece.

There are several vendors you can shop around here:

I hope this helps.

So glad you decided to say "Hi" and please keep us posted and please ask questions!!!

Thank you so much

I was also concerned about the cord since I would usually see plastic like attachments, I was thinking of just replacing it with other one.

I'll look at other bedding types to make sure everything is okay and be very cautious. Thanks for the link and I will be happily posting on this forum from now on.

I was going to say I'm not sure about the velvet, so am glad that Dawn responded.

Was also going to suggest that you contact Dawn, Ladymagyver, to see if she possibly has anything ready made available. We can vouch for her products.

I also thought those items on Ebay were a little over priced.

A lot of the vendors of sugar glider cage sets put their stuff on Etsy. Try looking there.
