Hi, My Gliders seems not to have much appetite these days and Im not too sure what it is related to. It`s really warm where I live and so it`s like 29 in my house...I have no a/c and ac units are expensive....so there is not much i can do we just all hang in there. Could it be why they don't feel like eating? One of them seems to be grooming more, again I tend to think its the heat but I am not sure.

Not many gliders eat bananas or strawberries. I can't get any of mine to eat bananas and they will only eat strawberries if I chop them up real small.

Gliders will normally adapt to whatever temperature we have in our homes, however 29c (84.2F) is pretty warm if there is no air circulating. Especially since they are snuggled in their pouches for sleeping during the day. It should cool down during the night.

Even fans placed around the room will help circulate the air and help cool things some.

Would you mind telling us what you are feeding as their staple that you would add bananas to it? Or did I misunderstand your post? At any rate, Feather is correct. Most gliders don't like bananas, so I definitely would not mix them in with whatever you are feeding.

Make sure to offer a couple of pouches in case they get too warm. Mine love their open environment pouch when it's too warm. Our AC unit quit sometime yesterday, and it was 89deg in their room. I thought we were going to have to move to the RV for the night. But a call to my son who works on A/C's told us how to fix it. Worked great.

We keep a ceiling fan on in our room this time of year. Mine have endured 95 degrees for a couple of days. I put their cage on the floor and offered a pallet on the cage bottom. They did have a fan.

I made pouches XXL so they could be together, yet sleep apart.

A fresh water source changed daily helps too. Mine have dunked their belly and washed their faces in it before.

I did forget to mention, since it's warmer, my gliders like their food served frozen....

Having said that, I've never done this in the past, but our work schedule has been a little crazy and we have food agression issues. I have to get their food in the cage before Stewie wakes up. He is still a Joey and he wants to get up and play. Dot follows him right out of the pouch to protect all the dishes. Ok, this is getting harder to explain... But one day I was late getting home. I went ahead and served frozen food. They loved it.

Can't imagine brain freeze...
