I can't believe it, after many attempts...... I REMEMBERED MY PASSWORD. Hello old friend GC, I have missed you and I apologize for my years of absence. For those of you who have no idea who I am... which is probably most of you. My name is Alicia, aka Queenduck for all of you that have been around for a decade plus. I was here for may, many years. Before life and Facebook (sorry again). And while I no longer breed sugar gliders I am still in the community but I can not log onto GC at work except once a week, and when I am not at work (I work nights) I am usually asleep or surfing from my phone. I still sew and sell the The Original SIssy Pouch on Etsy and at sugar glider gatherings. And I still assist with the magic of the SGGAWhat is the SGGA you say? For me it is a place to meet with other sugar glider enthusiasts, breeders, vendors, and most of all FRIENDS. Old friend, new friends, family. To learn new tips and tricks related to sugar gliders and expand my knowledge from computer based education to round table, word of mouth, and hands on education. The 2019 SGGA will be in Little Rock, Arkansas July 26th - 27th, 2019 Hosted by Donnie and Laura Ross, owners of River City Sugar Gliders This weekend will be filled with laughter, learning, and making life long connections. Please visit the SGGA 2019I want to tell you about my first SGGA. I had owned 2 gliders for just a few months- March to July. I had 3 day weekend off from EMS, and teenager with a drivers permit needing to get some drive time in, and a huge amount of adventure and curiosity. So I loaded 3 of my 5 kids up and drove from the middle of Kansas to Illinois. I did not have one single "friend' on GC and I didn't know one other actual owner, my family and co-workers thought I was crazy. We arrived at the assigned hotel 10 hours late and while sitting in my mini van one of the kids said "Mom, are we here". Just at the moment and man walked in front of my van and he had a tight white t-shirt tucked into a pair of jeans. As he walked passed us I thought I saw 2 large mounds move under his t-shirt (on his back), at closer look I could tell he had sugar gliders just roaming around under his shirt.... no pouch or anything. That man's name was Marvin. I said "I think we are here". LOL At that SGGA, I met one of the nicest couples in the world, both would become my lifelong friends. They were Karin and JIm Leonhardt. I found out that Lima beans would not instantly kill a glider, that yes they can be woken in the daytime, and that Bourbon can seem really scary at first... but really is just one of us. Fast forward to 2019... my oldest Son Chase fell in love with another sugar glider owner, Lysine from Lucky You Gliders, and I now have two wonder grandbabies from that 'pairing'. My closest friends have all been met at sugar glider gatherings, most at SGGA's. I created a fantastic product that has lasted for the past 15 years and is my part time job. And at the worst times of my life, the death of my father, my son's house burning down, and the best times of my life, the birth of my 6th child.... my sugar glider family has always supported me. Had I NOT gone to my first SGGA, I would not be the person I am now. Please join me and all of my friends and family.... grandbabies included, this year at the 2019 SGGA. I'll try to come back every Tuesday night and answer questions, but if I am not here.... you can friend me at Alicia Kyriss Rudd or Sweet and Sour Sugar Gliders on Facebook, message me if you like. I am rarely ever sitting in front of a real computer screen but I almost always have a phone in my pocket. I can't wait to meet you

It's so nice to meet you!!! I have one of your sissy pouches and love it!!! I just need to order a bigger one!!! I won't tell my story, but home is 4hours from LR, and hope to go this year. I have been to only one other gathering, OSGA will be two years ago in April. (We happened to be working in Ohio at the time)We travel with work (and are RVing it) and are in SC right now. It was great to be in a room full of only glider slaves!!! I too made friends, 2 of which are from Missouri, and my bestest glider buddy Feather. I was star struck to meet Bourbon!!! And she is a great lady!!! We got to visit at OSGA. She's very serious about glider care, and her heart is in the right place. I truly enjoyed our chats. I too would encourage going. Glider gatherings are the only place where everyone there truly understands your love of gliders.
Dawn Be patient, and Trust your journey.... Grace Ruby Mom Fiona, Dot, Stewie and Dad Wish I could turn back time... Miss you all...

Alicia, it is so good to see you back home. You have been gone far too long. Forgot your key to the door You know I always have a spare
My first SGGA was in Clarksville, TN way way way back. Believe it was 2001 (would need to double check).
This year you did bring it pretty close to home

Karen, so close to you...... would be a shame not to see you.
Momo, you can make it. LOL. Tell Terry I still have his pants, just when he least expects it, I'll make some Sissy's for him.
Dawn, I hope you can make it. That drive is very reasonable.
We are going to be having lots of activities, cookie contest, PJ party/all night party, and.... the SGGA conference.
Soon I'll start sewing for the table donations, planning on doing another huge donation.
I know it's not Tuesday, lol, the ER has no patients and I am all caught up on my work. This rarely ever happens.

well your off this is Terry Momo (suburban sugar) has account and never on here that I seen lol) O bet she don't even remember her log in. as far as making it it take us 2 days to get their and with me just starting a job ( and oping to get past the temp level of it, money too tight to for us to go. Plus momo was talking about possible OSGA this year but i not heard a final answer on that yet from her. I think it will mainly depend on taxes and the new rules as she afraid we will owe again this year.

Hey Alicia !! It has been far too long since i have been here as well, caught up in the Facebook game where people want answers now but everything is lost in a week. .i still send people back here, but it has been difficult for me. . Hey KarenE... see you ate still holding down the fort. . I still remember the day this forum was created. . Anyway back to the Sgga.. The SGGA is much different than the forums and Facebook. .you get to meet people gave to gave, you can see their passion and there isnt any drama. You can sit at a table with 5 people and hear 5 different ways people do things and why.. It is a weekend of making memories, and education is at every turn, whether it is at the concerns, sitting at the tables socializing, or even sitting aand enjoying a meal. It is a weekend of fun, games and adventures. The opportunity to meet and purchase from vendors, meeting and talking to the many breeders, everyone from want to be new owners to veterans. .last years suprise guest was Judie Hausmann..the grandmother and goddess of the leus.. a great friend full of information with a great sense of humor, she kept everyone smiling and waiting to learn more. . The Sgga now has a sewing and craft room addition that is the sole baby of Denise Rainwaters aka Minkas Mom.. where they teach sage sewing at every level, from teaching you how to use your own machine, loading a bobbin and threading a needle. .to complicated sewing techniques. .to include toy making as well.. The SGGA is what you want it to be. .if you want fun, education, or just to extend your networking resources. .you will find it there.

Hey Lori, good to see you back here. Been a while
Yep, still here. Made a promise to Ellen so doing my best to keep it. You and I registered here not many months apart. Seems like just yesterday
As I did last year, I will again offer to open a dedicated forum for the SGGA like we used to have. Let me know if that is something you would like to do.

Bourbon, now that I finally found/retrieved a password, GC is working great for me and I am getting email notifications to this post. Thanks GC I'd love to have a dedicated area for the SGGA. I have lots of plans for this years SGGA.... just to name a few that I have my hand in. Friday night welcome party hosted by Donnie and myself... with a cookie contest and prizes. Centerpiece give away... I am making them again this year and will again make some Karin inspired cage items. Saturday after vending we are having a PJ contest followed up with another "all nighter" party with prizes for those that stay up until the sunrise. As for the SGGA conference, that is Bourbon and Donnie's event, but I am speaking about mosaic breeding. Vending, I will be there and I'd like to have a vending contest... to inspire new and original thought. There will be lots to do and see. I really need to start sewing now. LOL I really hope to see new faces and some of us oldies, we aren't getting any younger I'll be bringing Jacob, who was just 3 weeks old for his first SGGA. He is now 15 and 6 feet tall. Hope to see you all there.

Absolutely, i have talked it over with the team and they think it would be a great idea. . I have thought about returning back here for a bit anyway, my life is just really super busy, and with no way for gc to notify me, i don't know how much help i would be. Feather/Kim is correct in that you will receive e-mails to any thread you reply in unless you change your preferences not to receive notifications. I can also reach you via PM for any emergencies
Recently we had an upgrade to the board, so you may notice a few things that are gone, some new features as well as the board being somewhat more streamlined.
We always love to see long time members return to the board even if it is sporadically. You all have so much knowledge for our new members.
I will open the new SGGA Forum today so you can start some threads for the different topics of interest.
