Oops! I'm taking you to 100!!! It's probably time for another chapter anyway... Dawn, thank you so much!! You spoil my furballs as bad as I do It’s like they have a fairy godmother granting all their wishes! You're so welcome! Be careful when using the eagle pouch. I realized after I sent it to kim I didn't reenforce the zipper stop in the open position. Everything is at least double stitched except there. Just be careful. I did figure out how to fix that, after it was in the mail... It's safe on the inside untill the thread is breached. I may have you mail it to me in October for a permanent fix. I hope the zipper noise is easier on the Gliders stress... No problem, just let me know if you want it mailed thank you again, I love the pattern! Though I am surprise you ranked them only as E-7 First Sergeants. They act more like officers; Captain at least

After our first night back together, things are still well. They were very leery of the new environment, especially after the long drive. Never fans of a road trip, were they. Still, I heard them playing at a few points through the night & only one bark-fest from Gwynevere when I first turned off the lights.
Today, I’ve mainly let them lay on my chest in their pouch as I read. Without home internet still (Monday, supposedly), not much else to do. Pictures will also need to wait until then.
They did meet my landlords today & immediately melted their hearts.

Glad you made it home safe. They will settle in quickly, they did here.
They are tough little troupers after that Lufthansa snafu. I wanted to kick that German supervisor right in the slats. He sure jumped after I threatened to call the cops and animal control. LOL
Any time you need to go somewhere that they can't go, I am here to babysit.

I still have no internet beside my phone, Karen That’s not the greatest connection as it is. The whole camera to shrinkpics to photobucket to here isn’t worth fighting until I have real access. Just picture the cutest thing you can image... then remember they’re brats. That mental image such hold you until I can post real images depicting it.

Quick plug for ‘Up Til Dawn’ glider products from our very own Ladymagyver. That bonding pouch you made me rocks & the fuzzies seem to love it. Since my house was getting treated for pests (I have a recluse infestation), I needed to keep them with me. Not a peep & didn’t even stir much as we had lunch, a bunch of shopping at different stores, & dinner. Even when I got back & opened it up, they were piled up fast asleep. I’ve NEVER had such a calm experience with them in a pouch, much less for all day!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!

Thank you Hutch! And you are welcome! I'm glad they were comfortable and relaxed. I assume you are talking about this pouch? https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZJqL1NDyhYqJtPK97This was supposed to be a double pouch. But when I tried to put both pouches in, there wasn't enough room for 4 gliders to be comfy. So at the VERY last minute I decided to kill the second pouch. Feather came up with the idea of the chunky zipper instead of a regular nylon one. It is a different sound when zipped. I wonder if the regular zipper sounds too much like another strange glider crabbing and it puts them in a state of fight/flight? And they can't see what's going on once the pouch is shut?

Well, I'm glad THE POUCH ended up the way it did, Dawn. They love it, as do I. To get out of the house & the creep factor of finding MORE recluses (even after treatment) for a bit, they went with me to Denny's. No struggling or resistance transferring them to THE POUCH & our visit lasted past when the crew if normally performing their wake-up routine. Still the pouch remained quite & fairly still.
When I got back & opened THE POUCH, I had four little faces peering up at me like "Morning! Do we get a treat?" much like when I peer into their sleeping pouch around the waking hours.
I still need to swing by clothing sales & promote them...
My biggest frustration right now is I have no place safe to let them out to roam. There are glue traps everywhere to measure the (lack of?)success of the treatment, I haven't finished replacing the 1930s era decorative floor vents, & I'm not entirely certain I want them crawling around on the floor in the evening right now. I can tell they're getting a little antsy in the travel cage. *sigh* Limited options right now, considering everything going on.

Get a tent. With a lot of screen windows. With a floor. It's more space and gives some freedom.
My first tent was a 2 man tent cheapie. I had to trim a lot of threads.
I did buy a Genji tent which is all screen. It also fits on my bed in camper too.
I got my Genji tent which is all screen, on Amazon.

I remember trying to figure out what to pack in the first small shipment.(I forgot what it's called) When I flew home from Germany (alone) with a 4 year old, 2 year old and a 6month old, I needed everything... Couldn't wait to get the big stuff! Kids had grown a bit too.

I haz teh interwebs!! YAY!! (Yes, Karen, pictures will be forthcoming...) I need the get another bonding tent. The natives are getting restless (& vocal) in their cage. Since the rest of the house isn't safe yet (still plugging openings, pesticide for spiders, glue-traps for spiders, said brown recluses) I can't let them roam free. One more expense, but it'll make them happy.

Yeah, hopefully they loaded it on the slow boat right side up! Ours was loaded upside down... Broke a really nice living room set we found while junking... Broke my only Hummel, some China, a crib, my favorite cast iron skillet, some of my crystal, oh and I found the poopy diaper I lost while the Packers we're packing.... I changed baby, went to set him in the playpen. When I went to toss diaper in trash, it was gone. They wrapped it and packed it in a box!!! Made the whole crate smell like rotten poop.... Really gross...

How the heck do you break a cast iron skillet? Like a nightmarish Field of Dreams: if you make it, they will break it. Dawn, they drove a forklift through a crate of my shipment to Germany. It was impressive the amount of damage that caused. It was not the crate in which they'd packed two filled trashcans labeled 'do not pack.' You probably have me on smell, but I might have you on a science experiment.

How the heck do you break a cast iron skillet? Ladymagyver says, That's the same question we asked... But when they pack a giant wooden crate with all your furniture and belongings, pick it up qith a forklift and move it over a dozen times, stack it on top of other crates full of furniture and etc, it falls, rolls, and the person on the forklift doesn't care, they move hundreds of military families daily, all over the world... When you see the shipping containers on TV at the shipyard? Where they load them with a crane?, It could be full of giant wooden crates that have family's whole lives in. Watch one get dropped... Inside becomes a shredded mess... End Ladymagyver... I can only imagine.... Not funny then, but look at the stories later!!!

First visit to my suggies' new vet. The first & second closest clinics that see Gliders weren't taking new clients, so I have to go with the third farthest in Furgson, MO at about 45 minutes away. I'm surprised I was having that amount of trouble finding a vet to get them seen living just outside of a city the size of STL. At least I didn't have to go with the next-closest after that: 90 minutes While I was planning on getting them in for a wellness visit in the early fall, Arthur had other plans. He was showing all the signs of another UTI So, to the critter-doc we go. vet was nice, seemed knowledgeable, & was good at handling them. Arthur was given seven days worth of bright pink meds. He's not happy nor are my fingers, but we've managed the first dose without blood-shed. The others are in good health & the vet was very happy with their condition, socialization, & (relative) cooperation. Only a short crab from Gwynevere when I passed her into the exam towel & only nip-attempt was Arthur as the vet tried to check his teeth. Doc said he's use to a lot more struggles, noise, & nips, & that actual bite attempts aren't uncommon. I was told I must be doing everything right. It is nice to hear from a knowledgeable & experienced stranger just meeting them. They're getting frustrated with the temporary arrangements (especially Gwyn). I keep trying to rearrange the cage, changing toys (thanks Dawn, those have been such a big help to my sleep schedule), & giving them some attention inside the cage. We've done tent-time a couple nights, but that not the fix they (especially Gwyn) want. They're so use to my letting them out to clamber over my shelving or explore, or the girls riding around on me in the evening. With the glue traps & brown recluses it's just not safe yet. I don't want to remove the traps to let them even roam our sleeping room until I go at least five days where I don't find or catch a creepy-crawler in or in near the room. I have been taking them with more during days off more than I had before since they're happy with the new bonding pouch. (Dawn, I promoted them to Colonels, seemed more appropriate). Gwyn will occasionally fight to get out, but I've learned if I hold her so only her head is sticking out so she may look around & pet her, she'll settle down after five or so minutes & go back to sleep. Not quite play time, but I'm hoping it makes up for being in the travel cage this long.
