Im wondering what balling up really looks/sounds like?
I have 2 sugar gliders that "looks like" they're "balling up" occasionally but to me it looks like they're playing. It lasts for less than a minute & they break up very easily on their own & both will come running to me as soon as they see me or hear me during the "ball up". they eat & sleep fine together & I believe they enjoy each others company but im just worried. I read that you will know when they are really fighting & someone described it as looking/sounding similar to a cat fight & what my sugar gliders are doing looks/sounds nothing like that... they will "pssttt" at each other during but make no other noises. Is this normal? Are they playing, establishing dominance or are they actually fighting?

Could be a dominance struggle, which is normal. Or they may be just playing.

Any food aggression?

Do they make noise when they are doing this?

Do they draw blood on each other?

Are they boys? and are they neutered?

It could be dominance, specially if they are not neutered.

Usually I would say if they don't break up and they are not making noise they are doing some serious damage to each other.
With them breaking up quickly, I would say they are having a beef about who is in charge.
