bessa OP New Member B Joined: Jan 2018 Posts: 3 indiana	Hi, I am new to this group and got a glider back in October. we I got him I was told he was a boy. He was about 16 weeks old at the time. I recently took to the vet to see about neutering and she could not locate the scotum said they may have not descended yet. he does not have a bald spot on his head and is very calm. I am beginning to wonder is he is not a she. I just look at belly today and can not see anything that resembles what the boy should have. I rub hair apart and it does look like there is some skin that is opening and I thinking that may be a pouch opening. is there anyway to know for sure. I got a buddy thinking I had a male so got another male and he has prominent bald spot is very crabby and sprays like a skunk smell when scared. my first one does not do any of those things. could everyone have been wrong including vet that he is actually a she. please if anyone has info on this get back to me right away because they will need separated. You are here, so we will figure this out. It does sound like you have a female from your description, but let's make sure. Check out this link and see if it helps. If you do indeed have a little female, from your description of the fur parting on her belly, there should be a slit with a small opening when you gently apply pressure to each side of the slit. With a male, even one this small, there should be something that looks like a tiny little pom pom on his belly about where you would expect a bell button to be. Chances are even if he is a male, he might not have even the beginnings of a bald spot just yet. So check and let us know what you think. If you could get a picture, that would be wonderful. I will be looking for another vet now since she couldn't tell the difference. she said the scotum didn't descend yet but from my research they all are born with obvious gender parts. there are not too many exotic vets around my area so this will be a tough one. I do not want her to get pregnant so now it looks like I will have to separate them for sure.
